im struggling, I made a basic human model... mixamo isn't reading my fbx at all and its really frustrating. I turned it into a mesh and joined everything together , disconnected and materials. idk anymore, I've been trying for hours

quicker way to get your materials back would be to move your original model into its own collection, save the file. when you import your newly rigged character into a new project file you can append the collection from the backup save file and retrieve your orginal textures

You have earned a sub. I have finally gotten this thing rigged after a literal month! Probably more, when you desk has dents from your head hitting it in frustration, you tend to forget exactly how long you were doing this. (I'm joking.) It still clips a bit, but the majority is great, I might have to just buff out some scratches in the weight paint mode to fix that. Maybe a shrinkwrap mod? Hm. But seriously man. Thanks. You're a godsend.
