Thank god there is still competence left in the industry and devs that still care above producing quality entertainment for the community rather than trash that no one asked for and wants to see. The whole point of business is to go where there is demand and/or a gap in the market. I don't get their business move frankly to go where there is no demand and do the opposite of what people want and still hope to find success. Their funeral I guess. They seem to think this is somehow sticking it to gamers but at the end of the day its their jobs on the line and company that will be closed, not ours - I frankly could not care less. Bioware founders quit soon after me3 and rest of the staff left to form new studio thats making exodus now and others went to work for cases hudsons new studio, that went bankrupt about 2 months ago. Obsidians been losing talent after ceo fergus ergheart was accused by crish avellone of embezzeling money, during pillars of eternity development and avelone was forced to quit whitout getting money he was owed for his shares, as one of the founders, so only ones that are left would be ones willing to gamble their monetery future on sinking ship. Neither has any of the talent that made the name at this point.

What bothers more about the pronouns is that they make it their main selling point. Like Baldur’s Gate 3 had a non-binary option for your created character but the main selling point for that game was the game itself from gameplay and the story that’s it. Yeah, that's the trick, isn't it? I'll never say there's anything wrong with more options for how players can customize their character or otherwise engage with a game, but that always has to be additive. It can't ever feel like you're losing something (or actually losing something), or that what's being added is to make kind of point. They definitely haven't done anything to broadcast that it is their "main selling point". The main selling point to me appears to be a deep, fun to explore, single player first person RPG. You need to keep in mind that all the people who received access to the game preview the pronouns were "discovered" in had nothing but flowing reviews for what they were playing. I don't care what the ideologies of these people are as long as the game is good. I will know if the game is good when it comes out and I can rely on the reviewers that I trust to let me know what is and is not ACTUALLY in the game

i remember the reveal for this game, i thought it was going to be darker themed, but just like dragon age failguard, it has too much of this comically bright color pallete that no way resembles what was revealed to us years ago and so i cant take this game serious or think that its going to be more mature themed. i think this is a swing and a miss by obsidian to "dethrone" Skyrim even without all the controversy surrounding the game, KCD2 however will absolutely be a game i pour hundreds of hours into if my Lenovo Legion Go can handle it XD

I have a theory. Since Avowed is set before Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2, maybe Avowed will end with the pronouns getting destroyed in the Eora universe which is why there are no pronouns options in the future. 😂😂😂
