From someone who makes rugs for a living, I think the special thing about the $4k rug was the difference in length between the colorful circles and the white background which added a more artistic and unique element as compared to the dupe. I think you can find another rug with similar artistic/unique qualities at a lower price point that you will love and be confident about! 😊

Theres a bunch of vintage shops in LA that sells 70s mid century modern furniture try and see if they have something for cheaper or have those items.

I'm the same way! I put so much pressure on picking the ~perfect~ thing for a new space. I kind of had to realize that a space is what you make it. For example, I visited the beach not too long and stayed in a like condo/hotel type deal. The furniture was mismatched and it had beach decor that some might find tacky and things weren't perfectly placed but I absolutely adored it. It felt so homey and lived in.

Go to the flea market!!! You’re in LA, that’s what we do here. There tons of rug vendors. Tons of awesome furniture vendors. The Rose Bowl. The Long Beach Vintage Market (it’s not all vintage)… so many!

the rug is cute it just depends what your other furniture looks like, i find it easier to buy rugs after you have the furniture in so it’s easier to picture when purchasing, i think this rug can go from cool pop of color and unique to child’s bedroom real quick dependent on your other pieces! i would wait to get rid of it tho until you have all your furniture
