Avril is so humble and credits Kelly for the popularity of Breakaway. Meanwhile, Kelly just can't seem to move on from an incident in which Avril accidentally hit her with an elbow at an event. Avril already apologized but Kelly just won't move on from that and still thinks Avril did it intentionally. She even gave all the credit to Disney for making Breakaway popular - not mentioning anything about Avril being the writer of the song. This ppeaks volumes about the difference between the two.

But actually, the way I see it, she got popular because she was being true to her music, feelings, and self.
