Guys she literally almost died, she wrote head above water to tell her story over the last six years. I think this album is a masterpiece no its not her "usual" sound but she also is 34 now not a teen. She deserves to sing how shes feeling at the moment, she has earned it. No one does music like Avril. I believe she mentioned heading back to a more rocker sound in her next project but this was something she needed to do.

I think people forget also a little jit that she's around 30 now and not 17 anymore. That's quite normal that her music style has changed 😂 and I think, that's better cause if she was still doing the same thing that when she was 17 there will be a problem... people change and grow up. That's how humans works!

I think her new music for this new album is amazing! I am loving it. I don't care if she switches genre as I have never been one to listen to one type of music only. I appreciate great lyrics regardless of genre. Avril is back and is killing these new songs! I'm so excited to hear the whole album. She is grown up. She isn't a kid anymore. Her music will grow with her. There is no denying her talent.

@Why are we still here? -Just to suffer That's where you're wrong. She has actual talent. Look at pop stars such as Cardi B or you can call her a Rap star. The girl may be able to rap but her songs suck. The artists who are hyped up the most are the ones whose careers will sink as fast as it rose. Iggy Azalea is irrelevant now. Fancy made her famous. Where is she now? I bet within years Billie Eilish and Bebe Rexha and Halsey will be irrelevant cause they rose to fame so quickly. Fast fame causes doom. Work your way up with hard work and it'll be all worth it. You won't fade away after your first hit single.

Stop getting upset about her new music style, you must understand she was fighting for her life. Now she's a new girl with a new music style. That's what the album is about, she just want to show us the process she's passed for and the best way to do it is through music. So, please enjoy it, we were waiting for it about 5 or 6 years, that was a long time... And instead of being home rediscovering herself and trying to reorganize her life, she is here, fighting for us, giving us new music, new videos, new ways to have the Little Black Stars alive ❤️.

Something about the ¨hidden meaning¨ in the video... The psychology of colour says that: -The pink is a warm colour, represents love, affection and other related feelings. -The yellow is a colour that represents an intermediate between the warm (as the colour orange or red), but without becoming a cold colour. -The blue is a cold colour, represents distance, emptiness, loneliness and other feelings related to these concepts. If we see the avril video ... When she goes down the corridor, remembering as she passes through the rooms in pink, yellow and blue colours ... she has: Memories of love when she goes through the pink rooms, Memories of ¨Love&Hate¨ moments in the yellow rooms. Memories of sad moments in the blue rooms. In the scenes where they are seen as undecided, blue and pink are also mixed. The producers and avril problably wanted to play with the meanings of colours and emotions. For example when the boy is thoughtful as in half hall, half of the scene is blue and the other half is pink, but when he decides to leave it is blue completely. There are scenes where the door is being closed to the pink color, we already know that part of the meaning of the song is "to close the doors to a relationship" ... and after closing the doors "to the relationship", the scenes are blue again.

For those of you who says her new music is crap, no..what’s crap is that you’re trying to keep her in a box. She’s not the same teenage punk rock girl anymore. She’s a grown woman and her music reflects her growth and her womanhood. Not saying she’ll never go back to her punk rock days, but right now this is what she’s feeling & going through. Every artist has their transition musically as they grow and get older and experience life in different perspectives and have different outlooks on situations. Sure, we all loved her when she was wanting to be our girlfriend and letting us know she’s still rock & roll, but as FANS we grow WITH her, not grow against her.

@VelcroKittie2 жыл бұрын
She is making a monumental mistake getting with Derek Smith. Engaged in under 12 months to a guy who came out of a polyamorous 3 way relationship, and was married to one of the members for 15 months? Is Avril a person who literally walks blind into the worst possible relationships? Like what's going on with that? On Head Above Water in honestly felt like she found herself, but within 2 years it's like bam! Back to the chaos. Some people may feel I am being judgemental here, but it's not really that at all. This is beyond being judgemental. This is an observation of something so glaringly obvious.

As much as I loved her rock pop days, I'm happy she's finding a new way to show her lyrical talent. Whilst they might not all be bops, it's hard to deny she has talent. I hope there are a few uplifting songs in the album to pick up the pace once in awhile (In my opinion, Goodbye Lullaby was too slow as a whole and the 2014 album was her trying too hard to reclaim her Best Damn Thing days), but honestly I don't mind much that her genre is shifting. Her vocals and lyrics shine through.
