This is how Devon trains: at the table. He's never been as big, strong, and bulky as a lot of other guys, but he has endurance for days, reflexes to get into any position, and knows absolutely every technique in the book. When healthy (pre-surgery), his right arm was even better. I can't wait until he gets that back into shape. There is no one better on the left.
@kasparov910 жыл бұрын
I got to pull Devon when he was in Sydney, he's incredibly strong, and his endurance is through the roof, he pulled all of us 20 or something, some of Australia's strongest guys without breaking a sweat...I asked him if he ever gets tired he says 'no'...and that he only stops when he gets injured lol, and that he has been arewrestling for a 'very' long time. He's awesome, and after meeting him, Im certain he would beat Cyplenkov in a supermatch, he's like a surgeon of armwrestling, with the power and endurance to back it up.
@saltedllama275910 жыл бұрын
kasparov9 Well said, and thanks for the info! That's pretty awesome that you got to meet him. He seems to be one of the more accessible professionals out there. I mean, just look at how much stronger his opponent appears to be, but Devon is never anywhere but in control.

I will update my comment from a year ago. Devon dropped a bunch of weight and now pulls at heavy instead of superheavy. Sort of a shame. I miss the 250 pound monster who absolutely destroyed Pushkar 5-1 on the left; Brzenk 6-0 on the right. Even beat Bagent lefty a few times. Now he's this ultra-athletic, but rather svelte 215 pounds. I wonder if it's the Crossfit/military training, or if he dropped weight to ease his right arm back into competitive form..
@2korn2die8 жыл бұрын
+Jason Colbeck yes sadly, kind of a shame :(

I thought arm wrestling was a test of your arms alone, not your whole body? these are very different rules to what I use in my local pub
@matthewcraig38376 жыл бұрын
Lee Thompson Yeah......What people do in pubs isn't arm wrestling.
@matthewcraig38376 жыл бұрын
Saitama It's still arm strength. Bodyweight doesn't just transfer to your hand with your elbow on a pad. Everything he did is completely legal and legit. Has been since long before your grandparents were born.

Are bicep tears common injuries in arm wrestling?
@matthewcraig38378 жыл бұрын
Fairly. Humerous breaks are most common
@Kostasalex1008 жыл бұрын
+Przemyslaw Kowalczyk Yes there are especially if u are overtraining before a match...but trust me there are other a lot more important injuries in this sport than a bicep tear.

@matthewcraig38378 жыл бұрын

why the hell are they using their own body weight????
@matthewcraig38377 жыл бұрын
That's arm wrestling. It's not bodyweight either. With your arm in front of you and your elbow on a pad, nothing will transfer without the static strength of your arm. If your arm extends, you will lose. It's literally impossible to put more into it than your arm can tightly hold.
@uchihahikaku16307 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you pointed that out. I had my first competition a few weeks ago. No training or anything haha. But interestingly enough what you're talking about is what i discovered. This sport is awesome and i'm training to do it now. Unfortunately there are no clubs where i live and i don't know anyone that does it so i don't have anyone to train with at the moment. I'm confident you need someone to train with to work on techniques right? I'm fairly strong but what i learned that day is technique plays a massive part in it. Really awesome sport. I used to think it was ridiculous seeing these guys using their whole body etc. I tried it out and found how technical it actually is. Opened my eyes, can't wait to compete again. I'm watching all these videos to see if i can learn anything. Hard to read so far haha.
