We also can’t forget that crocodile turned alabasta into a desert country in a couple years. I think it would have been much harder for him to accomplish without his fruit. Logia fruits 100% have an effect on the area around them, we just don’t know their full potential to change the environment

@@kennethdavy4051 I think part of the endgame will be an alliance between him and Blackbeard, but of course, they will try to stab each other in the back. Eventually, Blackbeard outsmarts him and takes control of the robot army. I do think he'll have conquerer's Haki and at one point, take out all of the Straw-Hats with it except Luffy, responding with that iconic horror face and saying "Does your rubber protect you from that as well?" And he'll have a form kind of like Gear Four, to battle Gear Four.

I’ve been saying ever since I first read that Impel Down chapter of the jailer beasts awakened. Its different for all three fruit classes. It didn’t snow while Ace was in Drum Kingdom. It was a hot sunny day. When Akainu/Kazan clashed It permanently changed Punk Hazard. The Awakening of Logia directly correlates to affecting the surrounding geography. Looking at the name “Logia” and then the source where Oda clearly got it from makes this clear. *late 18th century: from modern Latin geologia, from Greek gē ‘earth’ + -logia* The origin of the term “geography.” Notice a particular word reminiscent of devil fruit in there?

He only got his fruit recently (pre time skip), and is rather amateurish with it. Since we haven't seen how awakening happens, I don't know if post time skip Teach has awoken his fruit. Tekking theorized that time may be a factor, with a hypothetical minimum of ten years, since each Awoken user was confirmed to have gotten theirs at an early age. But maybe awakening just requires a specific type of training. If that's the case I can definitely see Blackbeard having done it during the time skip. Maybe to both of his fruits.

He always seems like he is clumsy and a fool, and that might be true many times, but i think his usage of his darkness-power was pretty good, since he only got it for some weeks the last time we saw it. Since Blackbeard is most likely the last Yonko Luffy has to face, it wouldn't be a big stretch if he is able to use both his DF-powers nearly perfectly

DwightSmith Him defeating Ace was with a surprise factor ability Ace didn’t knew he had, he still sucked in the fight, barely able to handle the enhanced pain from Ace’s attacks. And taking Whitebeard’s blows is more a testament to his personal endurance. He is a good enough fighter with a new fruit but he still had little experience with it at the time. He did qualify as a Whitebeard Division Commander so he’s not weak or clumsy, but half of the fight with Ace was him *explaining his power to a man who wanted to kill him* and the other half was him *writhing in pain like a baby.* If Ace didn’t fall into his range then Teach would’ve lost then and there. His foolishness is partly an act, yes, but some of it is genuine.

I might be remembering wrong but after Sir Crocodile was defeated by Luffy it started to rain on Alabasta and Hina asked Smoker if he used that one powder that when burned cased it to rain and he answered "no" I thought that was a strange moment that went no where but with the idea of Awakening it could show why Crocodile would pick Alabasta as his place because if he would use his sand powers to dry up a desert no one would be able to tell the difference and when he lost his powers would stop and it would start to rain

Fun fact: when Crocodile was defeated on Alabasta, it started raining - despite of a drought that lasted for as long as Crocodile was on the island. While this is a stylistic narrative choice by Oda first and foremost, it is definately possible to assume Crocodile fudged with the weather a bit. And no, this was not due to dance powder; that was only used to frame the king for the drought.

Actually, the drought was caused by the Full, Crocodile's ship that was using dance powder off the shore of Alabasta. It was captured by Smoker around the time Luffy defeated Crocodile which made it seem like defeating Crocodile caused the rain to return.

I think what would make logia awakening even more interesting is that these climate effects are due to a single attack. As if we say the pika pika no mi resulted in Enies Lobby's permanent daylight it might also be the reason for the hole there as well.

Fun fact: There is a real-world equivalent to Raijin Island. Where the Catatumbo River flows into Lake Maracaibo, there is a nigh-perpetual lightning storm. Obviously it's not as extreme as Raijin, and your theory does an excellent job of explaining how the island got that way, but I think it's neat that you can pinpoint the real location that may have inspired it.

Yep doflamingo said that awakened users can turn their environment into their df so I believe that's what happened with the admirals battle, would make sense. Perhaps when ice dude first did ice age he wasn't awakened. We've only seen him use half his body covered in ice but maybe his awakened for his entire body is covered in ice. Would explain how he has permanently frost bite and akainu has burn scars.

Isn’t Crocodile an awakened Logia type? He could control sand (that isn’t part of his body) and could make sand easily/use sand to suck out moisture. Logins could only control the gas they are made of, with some mild changes like aokijis ability to freeze everything

You know what I'm curious about after watching the Marineford Arc again.. What would happen if Ace had cut his hands off and slipped out of the cuffs? Could a Logia user theoretically cut of their limb to escape, turn into their element and reattach the limb? We've seen Aokigi lose a limb in ice form and just put himself together, but the damage was done in ice form. I'm actually not sure and could see it going either way. Perhaps his hands might've turned into fire on the floor when he ignited and he could "re-absorb" them and be fine.. or perhaps he would turn into fire, and maybe just have healed stumps but no hands? Or worst case the Logia does nothing and he still bleeds out and dies and has no hands.. the last one I say because we saw in fights like Crocodile that even though he turned to sand, the damage and blood on him remained.. the sand only healed damage to sand, any damage done to flesh was unaffected. Hmm.. I'm curious what people think.

having a logia simply change the weather on an island would be kinda lame and boring its WAYYY more likely that the islands changed climate because they were fight for 10 DAYS we've seen what aokiji and akainu can casually do, aokiji being able to freeze entire tsunamis and akainu being able to make it rain magma so having both of them do that's for much longer and much more frequently on an island for 10 days im sure would change the climate of ANY island.

Or hell even maybe just because of just how much magma akainu made it just formed volcanoes . we've seen akainu be able to dig under ground with his devil fruit before . So it's not impossible.

I believe Crocodile’s drying ability could be an awakening power. It’s the only Logia power (outside of the Yami Yami no mi) that doesn’t directly involve the element. There is no amount or use of sand that will eradicate any and all moisture. The drying ability effects things on an absurd level, down to the hydrogen bonds holding particles of stone together. The ability is also distinct from the act of conjuring sand. As seen when Crocodile uses moves like Sables or Desert Spada, he can create sand at will. The drying power on the other hand, doesn’t just create sand. When used on rock, yes, sand is the result because sand is any earth in tiny particles, but on an animal or plant, it only removed liquid. Grass and palm trees withered and disintegrated and Luffy became a shriveled husk, but neither became sand. Crocodile’s drying power doesn’t just create sand, it creates desert, a space defined by dryness.

makes sense, Kuzan and Sakasuki probably both awakened their devil fruits during their 10 day brawl, more than likey kuzan did first, but sakasuki followed to turn the tide of battle in his favor, and ended up creating the pokeball island, err my mistake: Punk Hazard. But that would go a long way as to explain the bizarre islands, The past user of Crocdile's fruit probably turned Alabasta into a desert, Drum island was probably frozen by a logia user, and someone with a plant like logia probably awakened on those islands Usopp trained on during the timeskip. And all this probably happened during the void century, and it's possible that someone with an air based logia might have even created the whole of the white sea as well as the sky islands. Who knows, this world is wacky AF

parameica awakening, i think it is transferring to another stage and be a lot better at it, like producer transferring to affecting the environment but better control zoan awakening -human(better control over animal parts, having an animal arm to an animal nail basically human beast at a smaller scale human beast transforming into a bigger and buffer verison beast-bring out that animal's special attirbute and strengthen(cheetah's speed, phoenix healing, dragon durability, human smarts,wolf, basically animal on steroids logia- having the element you have become their own person, basically it is like this power you have controlled but you can't use it. When a logia enters a awakening stage, they allow that element to take over and use full potential of that power. It could be anything to be honest. it is like mother nature taking over the forest instead of humans doing it. But the catch is if you enter the stage and get out everything stays permanant because that's your awakening stage person's doing.

I got it, they make it so that the users has their element all over the body while stationary, so sabo would have flames all over their and even body parts becoming made of fire even when not attacking, the same goes for: smocker with smoke, enel with lightning, etc..

I actually have thought this was a generally accepted idea... but I sorta disagree with the last part about an ancient logia war. The new world has been for a long time the collection of the most powerful people in this world. So it would stand to reason that more devil fruits end up there and more are awakened. It wouldn’t take too long for a few of them to change islands into their own strongholds. Or change them via clashes. I actually have always thought the weird islands and features of OP have been due to devil fruits. Floating islands... sea so poisonous that it affects luffy etc. these abilities have almost always seemed like a devil fruit we have seen.

Wano having four seasons got me thinking... Does One Piece have seasons? There are winter islands, spring idlands, etc. But I don't think there's ever been shown temperature or rain changing by time of year. Wano is basically Japan, which has four seasons. If the above theory is right, that would be why it's one nation with four seasons at once.

I've always thought that Brook is awakened. He effectively does alter his surrounding by manipulating souls. The initial power is just to come back to life once. But post-time skip he manipulates people's souls to fall asleep or hallucinate and can manipulate his own more effectively. Plus he's extra effective against homies because he can disrupt their soul.

I think that despite zoan and logia having such obvious strengths, I think that the real surprise will be that some paramecia style devil fruits will be seen by the end of the series as the most powerful. You can hit a logia with haki, but buggy could cut himself so small so as to be completely immune to being struck.

I know it will never happen but I thought of a way to give Luffy a logia devil fruit that could make some sense in the One Piece universe. A DF user is said to have a devil in them (assumed devil spirit/energy of the specific fruit) and eating a 2nd causes them to clash resulting in an explosion to vaporize the body. With that there is one DF Luffy could eat and maybe survive, the rumble rumble lightning fruit. If those 2 energies clashed in him you COULD say the lightning devil energy just has no affect on the rubber devil, and any resulting explosion is significantly weakened. Luffy could do some electrical discharge explosion thing and then reform with lightning ability, like Dr. Manhattan haha. Anyway, just a fun theory that seems somewhat plausible. Transform from gear Luffy to God Luffy! Maybe even a funny way of explaining his stupidity... he's rubber, rubber doesn't conduct electricity, so the electrical signals in his brain just fizzle out and the only complex thoughts he has are where's the meat and I need to yell.

awakened logias could also take some characteristics from awakened paramecia fruits in that it also allows them to generate their respective element or respective inferior element from the surrounding area instead of just their own body. they could spread this generation effect to include the surrounding atmosphere and thus causing the climate change effects.

Near as I can tell, so long as a Logia is surrounded by their element already like Crocodile in the desert, they already have all the advantages of "awakened paramecia" without needing to exert themselves. When they don't have their element handy, that's when things get difficult and where an awakening would really come in handy. Paramecia don't have that particular advantage though, since Luffy for example can't just naturally control any rubber band he comes in contact with. Wait.... I just thought of a truly frightening ability awakened Zoan fruits might bestow. They could potentially transform the area around them or even other people into their animal state forcibly, or mind control any animal of their zoan type nearby. That second part would be pretty useless in the case of mythic zoan, but devastating if Chopper ever got such an extension.
