"Award Winning Beach" Mistaken For The "CARIBBEAN" || Rhossili Bay Beach Walk - Wales

Picturesque lush green surroundings, wide array of birds and ponies to be found, sandy beach and some photoworthy backdrops, noted on my visit to Wales.
Today I am in worms head, Rhossili Bay in Swansea, Wales, is named number one beach in the UK and Europe. It even made the top 10 in the World beating Hawaii and the Caribbean!
The Gower coast has strong maritime ties and a number of legends surrounding seafaring, smuggling, and piracy. Rhossili is part of the Gower Coast National Nature Reserve.
Rhossili Bay, the largest expanse of white sand on Gower, stretches for three miles to the islet of Burry Holms. The tidal island of Worm's Head is located at he southern end of the beach,
The bay has been used as the setting of New Earth in the sci-fi show Doctor Who.
Facilities available in the area:
*Pub in Rhossili village
*Restaurant/cafe in Rhossili village
*Surf hire in Rhossili village
*National Trust Visitor Centre and Shop in Rhossili
*Public toilets (adjacent to NT Visitor Centre and Shop) in Rhossili
*Coastguards (at Coastguard Lookout)
There is a steep path that leads down the side of the cliff, down to the beach, but as you head back up, you may find the path challenging to climb back up to the car park. For spectacular panoramic views over the bay put "worms head" if using a satnav which will take you to the most spectacular views.
