Wow! Boingo in the early days when I was wee lad of 20 years old, I thought they were the best band ever! Now, having just turned 50? Still my favorite band ever....
@bropous42659 жыл бұрын
Dave Howland Wow, Dave, you and me both almost the same time, I turned 51 earlier this year. I also LOVED Oingo Boingo in my 20s, and also love them to this day. I wish we had the Internet when we were in our 20s. How cool would THAT have been, but then again, se had to search for the arcane knowledge of music the hard way, in record shops and in Billboard, so are we not far more rich in spirit than the lads and lasses of today who have the world's information available with a couple of keystrokes? And, we both learned the Dewey Decimal system, so we can find knowledge after the electronic apocalypse. So, we got THAT going for us. Which is nice.

Awesome 👌! Been a fan since around 1983 when I was a sophomore in high school at age 14. 1st saw them on the Gong Show when I was 11 or 12 😁. Bought every album since too and saw them in concert 3x. 1st was the best (Del Mar Fair in 1984 or 1985). Somewhat funny story behind it. Myself and 2 surfing buddies and fellow Oingo fans were waiting in line for 2 hours at the fair for a free concert by Oingo Boingo. All of a sudden a large group of people came frantically running by.. we didn't want to loose our place in line but took a chance and followed the crowed, ran though some buildings, corridors and wound up in on some bleachers at eye level dam smack directly to the middle of the stage about 17 ft. away! They played almost 3 hours and played all 3 albums they had out at the time plus a few new songs too. Was incredible and along with the crowds energy, being 17/18 y.o., the night's sea breeze........was a magical night 🌙🎶😊.
