I bought my Rad in 2016, rode 700 miles, then parked it. Having MS, it was too much to pedal up hills in Seattle, and quit riding. Then I found your Rad up grade videos!, After upgrading mine, the motor, controller and 52volt battery, and brakes, I'm riding every week, delivering food for our local food bank on my Rad. Thanks man. ,D

There is something special about building your own creation because it adds sentimental value to it. As you know I upgraded my Rad from being inspired by your video's but I have decided, and have already purchased, a "Super Monarch Crown" 1500 Watt duel everything, only problem is it's on backorder and I won't get it until May :-( And I'm thinking about starting a KZbin Channel as well, here in San Francisco! Great work Citizen, you inspire me with your videos. Keep up the good work!

I'm building an AWD sun-long bike recumbent, 2000w back, and a 1500w front with two 72v 20ah batteries. I already had the 1500w front wheel and have had it up to 48mph 80amp controller. The sun bike is just going to be the test bed, I am going with my own frame this winter to overcome the problems of no suspension and having to find space to put batteries and controllers. I'm going for speed as I am riding on 20'' wheels. It should be insanely powerful.

That bike is so cool, man. I have a regular 27" e-bike "mountain bike" 500w hub motor thing you know. And it's great, I love it! I wouldn't even consider a regular bicycle anymore, even though I still have mine, I don't care to ride it anymore. After seeing what you've done to yours, I'm planning to do the same thing and add a front drive also. My bike in stock format will go exactly 24mph top speed with throttle only. And the range is crazy good on this thing, I can go 47 miles with a combination of throttle only and pedal assist 2. I haven't even ridden my motorcycle much since I got this bike because I can take this bike in parks, on trails, wherever!
@seriouskite
@seriouskite 3 жыл бұрын
S.W.A.T. Team 3:50 mark, Was looking for 40 mph. but on a "bicycle" @ 98 lbs. 35 ish is the Holy Grail. Range is "ranger danger" to ask Mr. CC Rider, I will guess 80 miles, with pedal assist and minimal Full Tilt Boogie throttle only. Re: front shock, did you make any adjustments for additional weight of the motor? The hill climb ride along was awesome, impressed with low effort to ascend. The Misstress is all done up with additional power up front and party in the back. I like that you are not integrating power sources. When my Volt Canadian Bike's warranty is up (or maybe, I already void it) I want to follow your build. It turns out the Yukon 750 is really a 500 Watt, oh the nebulous world of E-Bike power. I want a true 750W, now it totally makes sense the "Himi" hit speeds well above Volt Yukon out of the box. Maybe, I will leave the NOT true Bafang 750W (500W) alone and do the front upgrade. Any thoughts for this front project, would you do anything differently? Ride ON, Brian! Another quality vid, full of info. You keep on giving, and also giving this backyard hack a bito' confidence that, maybe I can do this.

Great video! I suspect your zero-to-whatever times in reality are actually faster than you indicated. Ebike speedometer displays lag behind the actual speed when either accelerating or decelerating. If you built an AWD for hill climbing power, slogging through muck and acceleration you should have matched the rear set up or even gone slightly lower power than the rear. Most pre-made AWD e-bikes either match the motor power front & back or go slightly lower in front (to lessen the slip when accelerating). Direct drive motors don't climb or accelerate well. What a direct drive motor is good for is top end speed. Still the Mistress is awesome. Ride on & enjoy!

front wheel needs to be designed to pull less than the back wheel, if youre turning and the front wheel is pulling all of the mass and youre leaning you dont want the front wheel losing its "dig" into the turn causing it to slide out and make you faceplant. dual setup is good for relatively straight muddy or snow conditions

All wheel drive only gives you more low end power. The motors are not going to speed up on high end speed because they are only going to go as fast as what the max Motor RPM is. Also you should have purchased a motor that matches the same as the back. Trying to run a high WATT motor that does not match the battery or other components output will not do anything but fail or just go slow and eat batteries.
