@@IGY6MJ unfortunately these MQB platforms are known for raspyness. I ended up taking this catback off and going with the stock catback and a res delete paired with the downpipe. And yes with the downpipe it’ll need to be tuned for best performance. If I didn’t plan on tuning the car I wouldn’t have gotten the downpipe and would have kept this catback on because it truly does sound amazing

Any reference of how loud it is with valves open compared to an actual track exhaust? it’s hard to tell how loud it is from the camera

Honestly it would be hard to compare it to something. Haven’t had that exhaust setup on my car in a long time so I can’t really compare it and don’t want to give you a wrong answer. But if I were to guess it was pretty similar when the valves open to the track, only thing is this setup had one muffler unlike the track which is straight piped

I have a CTS turbo High flow catted downpipe. But I sold this catback here. This paired with the downpipe was way too raspy so I’m currently running the downpipe and the stock catback with the res delete and the burbles tune by EQT so I’m getting some sick pops and gurgles yes! We have plenty of other videos on this car with that setup on our channel. Feel free to check ‘em out

Can I get a CTS down pipe and add this awe exhaust? I’m barely getting into tuning my A3 1.8t and I want a deep sound, not a fart canon lol. I eventually want to upgrade rods and pistons, so I can compete with V8s.

You can yes, I’m not sure how it’ll sound tho since it’s the 1.8. When I paired mine with a downpipe it sounded like a fart cannon with a ton of rasp unfortunately so I took off this exhaust and sold it! But just do some research on how it’ll sound! And hell yeah!

Can you put downpipes on the car without turning the car ? Because i wanted it on mine but ive been told u cant unless u get a stage 2 tune for it

You can put a downpipe on your car without a tune, but the whole point of the downpipe is to free up power with the wider diameter(less restriction) so getting a tune would make the downpipe worth Wild. And just stage 1 would be perfect. A downpipe is just required to go stage 2 if you wanted to do that.

@@RatchetWrenches cheers mate yea my car has a stage 1 already with the res delete and i was thinking of getting the dp . But i was told you will get a engine light after u install it ? Apparently it needs to be flashed or something for it to go away

@@avais786 if you have a stage 1 it’ll help with the no check engine light, also it depends on which downpipe you got. If you get one with a high flow catalytic converter you should 99% get no check engine light. But if you get one with no cat(catless) you’ll need to update your stage 1 tune to trick the system to say it reads correctly. Also a downpipe and a res delete is the best sounding setup on these cars. I have a video that shows how it sounds on this channel! Check that out.

@@HappyDude1 the exhaust was good. One of the best sounding ones out there. I ended up selling it tho once I installed the downpipe. Unfortunately these cars once you install a downpipe they become so high pitched like a Honda and it just didn’t work for me. But you can always add a resonator etc. you’ll love the car tho, I’m stage 3 now on a bigger turbo about 65k miles and haven’t had any problems. Make sure to do the maintenance and you’ll be good. Haldex fluid, dsg fluid and then all the others and it’ll be reliable!

How do you get the switch between open and close?

Sport mode always opens up the valves. And another way is if in manual mode you have “dynamic” turned on it’ll open them aswell. Now if your driving in regular drive mode and really getting on the car it’ll open them with the right amount of pressure. Awe does offer a little key that can activate and deactivate the valves but that’s an extra charge unfortunately

That AWE system has too many cost cutting measures. It will sound too loud and raspy with a downpipe. Get the APR, sounds great with the IE Downpipe.

@@RatchetWrenches essentially you're straight piped of the valve opens. Completely negates having the muffler on the left. That design is so dumb, I would still want the valves section to be muffled. If you like being super loud is fine I guess haha. Love my current setup I mentioned. It's super quiet on the Fwy and loud when the valves open.
