AWE Track vs Touring Catback - Which is the Right Choice?

I got both on my STI, if you want a louder rumble slightly higher pitch Track is the way. For a deeper and quiet cruise, yet aggressive when stepping on the gas, the touring is for you!!!

ive had the track edition on my WRX for about half a year as a daily. its not really all that loud if you drive conservatively, easy on throttle and shifting like at 2k-3k RPMs and you wont piss off neighbors. its so satisfying driving aggressively though, plenty of pops! 💥

track edition fucks, so glad i went with it over touring. your comment is spot on, i'll add though that the cold start is obnoxiously loud for like 10 seconds before idle drops lol

@@Smerky I got the Grimmspeed Gesi downpipe before it got discontinued. Now only ETS or Rae-motorsports have a Gesi downpipe, so I would go with one of those options 👌

My opinion, I had a AWE track with Catless j pipe on my 16 wrx before selling. Daily drove it and didn't have any problems. The only thing that wasn't super bad but a little annoying at times was the drone on the highway/interstate. tried to keep it rpm'd around 3000 but there was a certain spot after 3500, it hummed louder than a fat kid eating cake.

There are slightly different sounds btwn the wrx and STi (fa v ej) . I already voted with my money and went touring chrome tips for my WRX. At certain hwy speeds, the exhaust is drowned out by road/wind noise. Most of the time it sounds like a prop aircraft (tone wise). The exhaust (both really) is quieter when there are green mpg bars and louder when there are yellow bars. As your engine digs/works harder, the exhaust noise increases.

got this touring in my sti, fitment/alignment on the tips and muffler is shit. good sounding product, crappy quality. stay away

I will agree and say the quality of the product itself is crap, the welds are horrendous, in my situation I had to have the slip joints expanded just to slide the pipes together as they were not sized properly from the factory. Sound is amazing out of the 5 exhaust I’ve had on my sti, best sounding hands down. Regarding fitment and alignment I disagree, the fitment can be really good it’s just not easy to achieve. I adjusted mine 3 times before I got it perfect. I played with different exhaust hangers, loosened and rotated pipes a bit, and eventually got my tips to sit exactly where I want them. Mind you this took me a total of like 4 hours of adjusting between the 3 times.

@@lucian7182 That's just an issue with just about all exhausts for the WRX and STI because of how the shape of the exhaust and where the connection points are. For one thing the catback meets up with the intermediate pipe at an angle, then there's another twist where the exhaust needs to snake around the fear diff and subframe only to end in a Y split before there's ANOTHER connection with the axleback. This means that there is a lot of wiggle room throughout the whole exhaust that cause the tips to look off in any number of ways if just one section part is turned ever so slightly out of perfect alignment.

@@lucian7182 that is the reason why i really want to give my constructive criticism because the way they produce the catback is make china product looks better. I love the sound and big tips on this catback but adjusting them shouldnt be a problem. build quality should be on par with cobb or invidia if we are paying the same price and adjusting should be easier. Until this day, my passenger side points slightly outward and looks like a unleveled scrotum if you ask me lol

@@SK-tr1wo i agree!! i really like how this sounds and looks because of the big tips that really compliment the car. i am kinda leaning on cobb but cobb catback and even the titanium doesnt come close to the sound of this.
