Old Disabled House Bound Dusty Rusty Rockhound here: What a delightful rock hunt. So many beautiful finds! This video is a balm to my "rockhunting-deprived" soul. I am physically improving, so by this time next year, I'm hoping to go rockhunting... even if it's at a rock shop!!!

I love the videos Katy, I would love to come do this with you, I carry a lot of rocks no matter what. usually around 80-100Lbs is my max but as long as it’s worth taking I can help you carry as many rocks as you want, I won’t complain.

My jaw is on the floor! Did you find all of those in one day? If I had found any of those in a day, I'd of have been doing cartwheels! Either you are in an exceptionally rich river, or I am really bad at this. So glad I found you. I love your pace, and your explanations are perfectly paced. You explain what you are seeing, in a way that is damned close to being there. The way you rotate each one is very much how I would do it, at a distance such as I would hold it. You don't rush and let us appreciate each side with a pause, that gives us time to see it! You have a pleasant voice and it comes through how passionate you are about these incredible natural wonders that rocks are. Count one more grateful new subscriber. I can't wait to ride along again! Thank you! You are a fine teacher.

I feel like the Yellowstone River is the best place to find agates, them seem bigger and nice overall. From what I’ve seen on other videos too. Compared to Lake Michigan/Lake Superior! Maybe they don’t have the LSA colors always. But i love them! Wish I was there with you!!!

Katy thank you for taking us along..that last big piece of pet wood had some gorgeous reds....I commented no thats mine...LOL. Getting back up there is on my list. Was in Fort Benton in 2015 but that was a genealogy trip. On the road to Loma there is a roadside marker showing the names of 10 men killed by indians, there are two with the same last name, one is my 3rdgreat grandfather and the other was his brother. I loved my trip to Montana it is such a beautiful and clean state, I was very impressed...Thank you

4:09 hi Katie, what makes this a treasure state agate? Thanks.
@KatyDidRocks4 ай бұрын
Hey there! Treasure State Agate is kind of a catch-all name for fortification agates found in Montana. Originally the name was intended to label agates found in Montana that looked like Fairburns, but it has morphed into a broader definition.

@KatyDidRocks2 ай бұрын
I would say it depends on what kind of weather you are comfortable with, as July and August are pretty good for hunting, but very hot. September and October are the best, in my opinion, but the easy pickin's are usually gone. No matter when you come, there are so many beautiful rocks. :)
