Jimmy has the phrasing of a horn player, which is what every guitar player wants to have.

Love Jimmie's style. Very authentic...... No pedals, all amp and fingers!!

Jimmie Vaughn is one of my favorite blues men...he's so original and old school. No special effects or other bullshit...just straight rocking blues!! Him and Stevie are two of the goats of Texas bluesmen. His catalog is in my iPhone song playlist.

I’m surprised there’s no Jimmie Vaughan tone chasing videos, he has such an amazing guitar tone

Inexpensive stock Strat into a Tweed Bassman type of amp, sometimes uses a plain Boss tremolo pedal. Sets the guitar volume at 5 or 6 and the amp turned up quite a bit, but clean. Amp presence/treble/mids up and bass down. Cuts his own picks out of hotel key card plastic.

What I think is funny is that so many of his fans will praise Jimmie for playing a cheap, off the wall, stock Mexican Strat, but instead of following his example and just buying whatever cheap Strat like he does, they will go out and buy a Jimmie Vaughan Signature model, 😂. I don’t understand people man!

Thank you for this performance it was nothing but unique talent I love Jimmie the way he plays guitar he's amazing unique style I love how he sings the way he talks and slicks his hair back. I saw SRV back in 1989 in Tampa, Florida he blew me away he played guitar behind his back and with his teeth!!! RIP my favorite artist of all time now we have Jimmie am going to see him live for the first time on June 17, 2023 @Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati, Ohio. Am walking on air can't wait!!

Love you Jimmie, since I was 18 listening first your brother Stevie (RIP) in my beloved Patagonia Argentina until I heard Family Style and I've converted in your fan. That was 1990. Couple of years ago saw you in a concert in Salt Lake City Utah just before Covid days, I was standing right on the edge of stage, our eyes met, I put my hand on my chest, smiling to you and you smiled at me. That was the best autograph I could have received, JImmie Vaughan's smile is priceless. Many blessing my Good Texan!

I love this kind of pared down r'n'b and Jimmy is a master of the genre. He is a true original and has his own style and sound. If you love pure no-frills r'n'b check out the early Dr Feelgood recordings featuring Wilko Johnson and Lee Brilleaux - you won't sit down, Baby!

Is all the bass coming from the keyboardist's left hand? Either way, this is magical.
