This was super helpful. After watching your video, I assemble mine in less than a minute (and I’m terrible with even basic DIY stuff!). Thank you so much!

Thanks for the walkthrough! The printed instructions don’t make it clear at all when it comes to bending the little peg over with a pair of pliers.

If you magnetize your minis the otherside also works to hold them in place

Oh those are very nice. I could get great use of those for paper or tile storage. By the by - Kvissle is a proper name it is a village in Bergs municipality located between Storsjön and Oviksfjällen next to Hovermoån in the southern part of Jämtland. Thanks for sharing this those are a lovely product. Cheers.

I almost wish they weren’t cork shelves. I plan on putting magnets on the bottoms of each miniature. They would love metal shelves a lot better.

Yeah, you aren't the only one to make that comment; someone else has suggested turning them upside down which would work perfectly I think. Cheers!

I use metal fender washers as bases, and I buy those Hillman Ceramic Disc Magnet. They hold the minis really well, to the point you could tip it upside down and they stay on. You can shake it of course, but transporting in the car I have zero worries that the minis get messed up. Also, drill a couple holes and you can add a handle. If you don't like white, buy some metal spray paint. IMO, the hammered spray paints give a cool looking texture to the metal.

Thanks for your comment. I have based a lot of my 20mm/1:76 WW2 miniatures onto washers as well - I bought some magnetic sheet to use for storage but haven't got round yet. Those are all really good suggestions, thank you very much for taking the time to pop them on the video for others to see. I use mine as static storage for my WiP stuff but I think I would probably paint it if I were to use them for outside transport. I am really finding them so useful, to be able to pull a shelf, work on painting the minis, and then slide it back away tidily is awesome. Thanks again for the comment, and for watching the video.

I bought the kvissle and the lurvig pet carrier to fit it and carry it around, and a suggestion i got is to put magnets or magnet foil on the front part of each tray, and then put them into the kvissle backwards - that way the magnets will prevent each tray from randomly sliding around while you're transporting the kvissle

Nice. If you drilled in a handle at the top, put flexible steel on the tray bottoms and magnetise your troop bases you could use this unit as a troop transport.

I use 20mm and 54mm scales and favour Humbrol enamels (started 50+years ago and see no reason to change, the dirty thinners makes a nice 'dark wash'). I find paper sorting drawers work well for the paints and 20mm scale models - Currently doing some figures in acrylics for a friend, the acrylic dropper bottles and the taller Games Workshop bottles are too tall for the drawers but that's okay as some thick card (greyboard, the stuff on the back of writing pads) can be bent up concertina style so the bottles can be laid out. The trays have sides so I can take out the set I am working with and have it on the bench beside me. The only snag is the cost but I have picked up a couple for other people cheaply in junk and ex-office kit shops. Got one recently at full price, has 5 drawers 35.7 x 28.5 x 26.5 centimetres and cost about £30 (I know, I cried as well). The drawers are plastic but plenty strong enough for lifting out when full of paints and miniatures.

Ahh I have a stash of my original Humbrol enamels from when I was a kid and building model planes with my dad; the smell of them takes me right back! Paper Sorting Drawers are not something I've come across before; I'll have to take a look. It's obviously been a while since this video and I can report that the kvissle gets use every day storing my projects and has proven to be excellent, with the cork being the best bit as it is non-slip and I'm quite clumsy. I'll check out these other drawers though; thanks so much for the suggestion and also for taking the time to comment after watching; much appreciated :)

They are really so useful. I didn't highlight it in this video but you can actually slide the bottom shelf onto the fixings for the sides, so that makes a larger space for bigger models. Cheers mate

Brilliant in every way! A quick thought.. Would it be possible to fit one of the shelves down at the bottom? In that way it would be possible to gain space for larger figures, still gaining the benefit of all shelves.
@BeardClipper
@BeardClipper 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much :) Yes it absolutely is; the shelf slides in over the top of the clips that hold the side up so it works perfectly; I discovered this myself only last week. Good question, thanks for the comment :)

Haha yeah we only have wood stoves to heat us here, though I've since actually snuck an electric heater under my painting desk as it's dropped to minus figures outside. We only light them when we're in a room for an extended period of time, I'm pretty used to lower temperatures now :D HAHA She won't let me near those! However I do have some cheaper ones that I bought but haven't yet got round to trying out . Thanks for the comment and the nudge - a good idea to get them out and have a play.

Hey - never too late! There don't appear to be any mounting holes or brackets however you could almost certainly drill through with a normal steel drill bit to attach your own? I've got mine sat on a shelving unit. Thanks for watching, and for the comment :)
