My favorite Heep is their third album, "Look at Yourself". Every song great. I really love "Tears in my Eyes".

T, if I understood anything about your open mindness and your musical tastes, you're gonna absolutely love most of Uriah Heep's 1970s songs. Musically, I like to define them as sort of "Deep Purple with a touch of magic on top". Vocally though, they just had no rivals: their brilliant harmonized vocals are what really set them apart and I'm convinced they had some serious influence on another wonderful band like Queen, at least vocal wise. My suggestions are the following, and it's just for starters: Easy Livin' Sunrise July Morning Look At Yourself The Magician's Birthday Sweet Freedom Paradise / The Spell Happy Heeping and keep up the good work!

Tragically, a few people in this video have passed away... lead singer David Byron, rhythm guitarist Ken Hensley and drummer Lee Kerslake (R.I.P)... Kerslake was also the drummer on the 1st 2 Ozzy Osbourne albums - 'Blizzard of Ozz' & 'Diary of a madman'. Uriah Heep was formed in the UK in the late 60's... guitarist Mick Box is the only original member left. Current vocalist is Bernie Shaw and the band still records & tours...
@deadnightwarrior19763 жыл бұрын
It's really, really sad to think that four of the five fine musicians you can see in this video are no longer with us. This includes the very talented bass player Gary Thain, who passed away in 1975. Uriah Heep, especially in their first 6 / 7 years of existence, were a marvelous band and produced a few must-have studio albums during the 70s.
@victorjohnson7512 Жыл бұрын
Uriah Heep was one of the heavy British bands that came out in the late 60's a long with, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple. This song is the intro to their fantasy album "demons and wizards". When Ozzy went solo (1980) after Black Sabbath, the bass player and drummer from this band joined him...

The context these 70’s songs gives you definitely makes your reactions of other genres much better because you can see and hear the threads that bind all this music together.

Im a 64 year hold heeper. Seen them on sept 14-1974 at Moody Colosseum in Dallas Tx. the night bass player Gary Thain got electrocuted. Would you please give the Uriah Heep Live album a listen. Its one of the best live recordings to come out of the 70's and still holds its own now. It was recorded in 73'. Thank you for helping out the 70's.

Well done finding Uriah Heep, named after a character in the Charles Dickens novel David Copperfield. I really like their album. Demons and Wizards and have always thought of them as sort of folk/rock with a sort of medieval/spiritual world feel. Great band.

@@JB-xh5mc , the thing most folks don't realize.....that song was written by Shorty Medlock (1912-1982), Ricky Medlocks grandpa and Shorty played the harmonica on the cut with Ricky doing lead vocals and guitar. Who the hell gets to cut a Top 20 song with their grandpa?......and Shorty played the SHIT out of that harmonica! Most folks don't realize that Ricky Medlock has done two different stints with Lynyrd Skynyrd (1971-1973) and 1996-Present. Shorty was 67 years old when that track was cut! Incredible. T & Tasha need to do a reaction.

Hello T! First of all, I like your vids! you seem to be a cool guy, and watching you enjoiy the music of the 70's (that I'm currently discovering too) is bringing joy to me. I saw you fall in love with ME262 of BÖC (one of my favorite band btw), so I would recommand you to try and listen to other of their classics, but I'll suggest one for a start : 7 screaming diz busters. If this doesn't blow your mind, I don't know what will! Also, I would like to see you react to some Rainbow. This band's so epic, and I do think that you'd enjoy it too. Especially tracks like Stargazer, that are absolutely mind blowing. Anyway, hope you see my comment! Peace!

Back in the day - it was albums - not songs (for me). The Demons and Wizards album (not the deluxe version but the original) is one that should be listened to in its entirety. The sum is even greater than the parts. It would be like trying to listen to Rick Wakeman's Journey To The Center of the Earth one song at a time - shouldn't be done. All or nothing (for me).
