After the grounding of Breaking Waves, the Polynesians saved them in a storm. Then they put them up in their own room and fed them and delt with an injured ankle. Then they got the boat off the reef and continued to support Ben and Alie. The Polynesian culture is one of the best on this planet. The best!!!

And I quote Erica, "Holly Fu _ _ _ _ Sh _ _!" That was a nice sailfish, and yes, let them go. I'm sorry you didn't catch your Tuna. You may need some steel leader for whatever is biting off your lures. What a hoot. It could have been WaHoo. But the schooling looked like Tuna. Good luck on your next fish rampage. It was great to watch.

copperCoat...yeah!!! Just scrubbed ours in FP after eight months, 4000 nm. No barnacles of any problem level, some goosenecks where the sun hit, and a half inch carpet of soft green scattered. A power washer in a yard would blow it clean. Used a softer plastic scraper and some heavy stainless steel scrubber and you could get shiny copper to come up with little effort. We are at almost four years now. That paint is so hard, the scraper just slides and cuts clean, like in your vid. I loved Tonga. Eua is a special place but only can be reached by ferry. Some crazy caves, wild parrots, and very wonderful people. You leave the boat in Nukualofa and take the ferry. No harbor, no anchorage.

Sailfish, said to be the fastest fish in the ocean and can swim like 70mph, it's no wonder it was taking all your line! Spends most of it's time near the surface but can dive to over 1,000 ft to find food. Glad no one was hurt, that guy had a knife and was trying to use it on Warren.. lol

I'd suggest having your drag checked. Lines snapping at that location is usually because there is too much drag, which causes the line to dig into the ridge where their teeth are, severing the line. So I would either check your drag, have the reel serviced, or increase the poundage of the line to try and compensate for a heavier drag.
@WEsail2 күн бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I think with these bigger fish we are going to let the line run a little bit more with less drag while we spend the first couple moments concentrating on slowing the boat down… that’s the plan anyways

Love your videos, thanks for sharing. Your fishing, when using good tackle use stainless steel traces to avoid loosing expensive lures (especially in the Pacific). I good idea for yachts is to use a bungee cord system tied to the back cleats of your boat instead of fishing rods for mahi-mahi and albacore, because it puts the fish on top of the water and you can pull it in by hand without stopping the boat, about 10 metres long. Google it or let me know and I can send you a set up. Cheers Dallas and Charmaine from NZ

I can't imagine how anyone can think yelling will increase the focus or speed that something happens. Last time I was on the receiving end of that I was clear - you can either divide my attention or let me focus on fixing the problem. Fortunately for all involved space was given, focus was achieved, and disaster was averted.

It's not fair to compare your Cat to The Tri-maran of LaVagabond. Which is a racing Tri-Maran. Now Riley is dreaming of a 90' Tri-Maran. Insane. It's wrapped up in Chinese Ownership and would be nuts for him to put 2 small children on it without any creature comforts. They don't have space for the number of adults as it is... Fun video of fishing chaos.

Hi guys. I enjoy your videos a lot. I have a question related to visas. Normally the max time one can stay in a country as a tourist is 3 months. You’ve mentioned you will stay here 4 months. What are the visas you normally apply for?
@WEsail4 күн бұрын
Hey thanks for watching and good question- the thing is that we have found is that every country is different on their own visas: some offer three months, some four or six, Mexico is a year and then a few others don’t require any at all… so we just kind of handle that when we arrive, whatever they ask for and require is what we do! Cheers

I hate to be so negative but you'd think after all these years on the ocean, you folks would have a clue about how to troll for fish. That exhibition was truly pathetic. Setting the drag should be an automatic reflex; no real thought required. Dropping the sails is far more important than trying to film a cf. I love your channel but sometimes wonder how you've made it this far and pray you'll make it all the way around the globe safely.

You are not going to catch fish with the boat moving that fast. Need to stop sailing.
@WEsail2 күн бұрын
Totally agree, I think we hesitate because we often catch smaller fish which definitely don’t need the sails dropped (which is a bit of work, especially to put back up!) but we have made a decision to change the way we do things a little (mostly being ready to drop sail) and see if we can loose less gear LOL
@williamg17212 күн бұрын
@WEsail dont tighten up on the drag until the boat stops. On big fish, you might need to reverse down towards the fish.
