Another sweet location, Dan. It is always such a treat to see these places from the air. Several times I saw spots that a railfan would love to have a house in. 🤠👍

Another great production Dan. I got a kick out of seeing those junk cars which apparently were placed there to limit erosion. Ranchers can be very creative.

Thank you for another tease for your larger video on the Union Pacific's Evanston Subdivision that you are putting together, Dan! I enjoyed watching this video of the two Union Pacific trains passing each other. (sted 26Ocotber 2024at 1907.)

Impressive work, as always. Judging from this footage at Castle Rock, along with the earlier clip from the Weber River section to the west, your future *Evanston Sub* video is already predestined to be epic. Very much looking forward to it. Cheers

Awesome freight trains 🚆 video 📹 👌 brilliant captures there doesn't seem to be a great deal of clearance when double stack containers go thru the tunnel🙈, great drone footage and lovely scenery, great viewing 👍👌,
@TheRailfanDan2 ай бұрын
Hey thanks so much Trevor! You're right there is just enough clearance to fit double stacks. I've seen many tunnels like that.

The location is really gorgeous. The rock formations are awesome and their color is very interesting. The meet was cool, it's good to see trains on both tracks at the same time. The Tier 4 engines are indeed rare, so you were lucky you could capture two just a few minutes apart. This is another excellent trailer Dan. As a UP fan I can't wait to see the full length video.
@TheRailfanDan2 ай бұрын
Thank you Z I'm glad you enjoyed! I know I also really like the color of all the rock formations. I always remember you enjoy the UP and I've still got so much more on the way including what I've been filming close to home recently.

As usual, a great video. I believe the excavation at Tunnel 11 was to remove soil weight that was deforming the structure --pushing it downhill.

What a great catch, I couldn't get over the silver-green colors on the hillsides in this video! Very well done as always! Btw, did you hear that the International port of Coos Bay is starting to receive grants for the port project? They received $25 million for the port itself on the 16th and then another $29 million on Friday, the 25th for the rehabilitation of the rail line! Something tells me they're gonna use more than the funded $29 mil though. Some of the money will go towards upgrading the line, some will go to clearance issues with foliage and the tunnels, and some of the rest will go towards upgrading the yard in Eugene so it can support the added revenue. May wanna get some more footage of the freight trains and line before they begin the project of transforming it into a whole new system! (I'm so excited for this, as you may notice lmao)

I did hear all about that! Very awesome for us! It is very exciting! I'm ready to be honest and feel satisfied with all that I've covered over the last 7 years or so. Bring on the transformation!

@TheRailfanDanАй бұрын
@alexispeart1 I was standing where the ground video is taken from but drones nowadays can easily be flown over 2 miles away or more with clear line of sight. I didn't fly very far away in this video though.
