The clay that the D8K is trying to dig was rock hard virgin clay. Opening the throttle right out would just cause more trackspin unfortunately. The clay in the background that the D8H is digging was dug out the day before with a Cat 983B making it abit easier. I hope that helps

The operator isn't any good. He's up and down with the blade and hence shows he has not got the feel for the machine. He's just creating bumps and making it harder with each pass. In other words, he's digging in too deep too fast. Not very experienced in my opinion.

Hes not using the dozer properly shes a good machine , its old and should be respected , the transmission wont last long this way ,, either will the running gear , she has no chance at this kind of deep hard digging and pushing , she could do with a Kelly Ripper to loosen up the ground first , a D9 g would be better suited to this kind of ground

It might also have something to do with the HYDs, as to how good they are, I am on a 10 T at the moment and it does just that but the Hyds are very weak on it. Blade and rippers creep down fast and when the blade bites it will pull it down even if you are trying to lift it. Maybe that 8 has the same problem and needs a hyd overhaul. @@adelarsen9776

DDMAX 08LMM600HP cutting into and pushing a full blade of clay in virgin ground is much heavier work than pushing loose rock.
@rodleypumpkins41746 жыл бұрын
Awesome Earthmovers that doesn’t look virgin to me. That’s loose dirt That dozer is sitting on a lift of loose dirt. And I’m not talking loose rocks either. I run a d8 for a living. Not much is harder on one then ripping up boulders and rock that’s never been touched Then pushing it over.
@rodleypumpkins41746 жыл бұрын
Awesome Earthmovers alright I take part of what I said back. It looked loose but I see it’s not. That’s still just clay no rocks. That’s what we call an easy day. No boulders to worry about and there’s no ripper. Just pushing.
@AwesomeEarthmovers6 жыл бұрын
DDMAX 08LMM600HP if you watched a bit more of the video you would see the dozer cutting into a slot. There’s a difference between something being hard on a dozer and working hard. Rock work is hard on a dozer but when it comes to working hard clay is heavier and you also grip more in it using more of the dozers power.
@AwesomeEarthmovers6 жыл бұрын
DDMAX 08LMM600HP A dozer will certainly last longer in clay and I’d much rather work in it that rock but as regards working hard and using its full horsepower, nothing beats heavy damp clay.
