Man I miss those days, guess I kinda lucked out being universal from a loader, 977L, or 977K, 6 to 8 dozer, Hine Wiener, Link Belt Koenig back Hoes, 12 grader, 935 945 cat, miss the feel, the sound, smell of diesel, between roads, pipe lines, pads for huge buildings, had a good company I worked for, you got a pick - up, time and half, double time, sunrise til dark, didn't get off to much, but I loved it. Good seeing this again. Good close up video thanks Bud, enjoyed

Robert Kinholt, I had not heard the brand Hein Werner in many years. I operated an old C-12 with long boom back in '76-77 ? Did basements & sewers. Those old long control sticks had boost pump on the thumb switches. Those control sticks must have been better than 3 Ft long as I recall.Foot controls too... Man, how that brings back old memories. Yea, I got rainy day pay too.Even if the weather was bad, boss always had me go figure jobs among other pen paper work. Last work I did was moved to coal and retired off U.M.W.A. Worked the first models of D-10,double stacks, that was a great dozer. Also operated CT, 14 G, 16 motor graders . CAT- 992C. Also an old 992 A model, and 400 Hough. I also worked on a Marion 201-M electric shovel 38 Yds level capacity., so it was doing well over 35 Yds as it took 3 dips to load a M-120 Lectra-Haul. .Brings back memories.

I ran D9L 12/7 for 6 months straight than 6 months off. Mined first strip muskgage doemn to gravel. Than gravel to gold bearing materials. Muskgage was hard. Most operators stayed stuck. Or got the 9 stuck two three times a day. There are tricks. You can keep water behind you. Fill your blade fast and lift it on to your winroe than you are pushing on drier dirt. When you push out. Don't lift your blade when backing up. If you do you stand on your nose always trying to climb up hill backwards. Never try to dry a hole with dry dirt. It just makes more mud. Rocks can float. I operated big excavator in it also. Moved over the years many valleys of dirt. Retired now. Oh the D8N was there. One D9 blade of dirt is 3 D8 blades of dirt. Could break D8 in a day doing the harder work.

great video, great operator work. The water is more to keep the dust down. In California, there might be a residential area 1 mile away. The residents will complain if the tractor dust reaches their home. So the water spray is to limit the dust. It takes a lot of water for compaction.
