OMG this drunk driver killed a family of 3 including their small child and he walks away with a scratch on his forehead. Police say there were open bottles of Jack Daniels as well as other alcoholic beverages in his car. He told police he was drinking while driving. This man deserves nothing less than several years in prison for his behaviour. How can a person get behind the wheel and jug back Jack Daniel while driving? This incident was totally preventable and that family should still be alive today. Absolutely maddening and terribly sad. I feel sorry for all who died unnecessarily. RIP

A few years my ass. This killer should spend at least 20!!! They sentenced that truck driver that lost his brakes and killed four people to 110 years. That was so extreme and the public outcry got it reduced but that was an inexperienced driver coming down a long hill, not a deliberate drunk driving act.

I lived in Phoenix for over 25 years and have driven ALL of these highways. 90 and 95 is not uncommon on most of these stretches. Trying to go through the tunnel is a nightmare on a good day. The amount of uninsured drivers is mind boggling and the shitty cars on the road (NO safety inspection, just emissions). You take your life in your hands every time you drive. If it rains, it would be best to stay where you are for a good half hour because all the oil comes up to the surface and it is like an ice skating rink and people STILL do 80 or 85 and when they wipe out, it's ALWAYS a major accident. I carried million dollar liability coverage on the off chance I caused an accident. If you take out 10 or 15 cars (at $30,000, $40,000, $50,000 and UP) you are in deep doo doo if you carry state minimums.

Who doesn't really enjoy a good " accident" Accidents are rarely an accident as most are Gross Negligence mixed with bad decisions and lack of proper driving skills or training all of which aren't " accidents "..When people are held accountable for Vehicular homicide and receive life without parole vs the 5yr, 10yr 15yr slap on the wrist this will continue..

Dont count on it. Death penalty has not stopped people from committing murder. Some people are beyond saving. It's what they are. Only way their issues will end is the day they die. Locking them up/releasing only makes them worse than they were before. You can't reform these people.
