His dream of leading Nigeria was not realized. To Odumekwu Ojukwu, the Biafran leader, Awo was the best president Nigeria never had.
He inspired Yoruba solidarity through the formation of the Egbe Omo Oduduwa which later transformed into one of the strongest political parties in the annals of African history, the Action Group (AG).
