There’s a story behind her presence there don’t forget Celine is Canadian and Bill and Hilary Clinton the president of the United States 🇺🇸 at the time has asked Celine to sing at the Olympic even if she wasn’t an American 🇺🇸 they absolutely loved Celine voice and her songs they were there favorite singer so they asked her and she said yes since then no other artist coming outside of the country that has the Olympic has performed that’s how special Celine is 😁🥰👌

Wow. Really? I never knew the back story to this performance. But, I could tell that she had to be personally selected considering the event. I have always said that there are many great singers but, Celine is one of those artist that can really deliver a great and classy performance. I can see why after all these years I’ve heard people talk so much about Celine’s voice and songs because they are powerful and inspiring. If anything I am so grateful that I’m doing this channel to open my eyes to how great Celine really is. Thanks for sharing.

@@awordfrompresidentpat1985 no problem I’m glad that you learn this story it’s easy for me because I literally grew up with Celine I’m 56 3 years older than Celine and living just 10 minutes of where she grew up the town is called charlemagne just 10 minutes from Montreal so I know absolutely everything about Celine here’s a little treat for you here’s the very first time Celine has made a performance on television she was 13 years old and the rest after that became history here’s the video just for you 🥰👍kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6WXnaxjg7Cpf9E

I might have to disagree a little with that comment about no other artist coming from another country. In the same Olympic year, Gloria Estefan (Cuban born artist) performed during the closing ceremony. She performed “Reach”, which was an official Olympic song for the 1996 summer Olympics. Definitely recommend watching it!!

If I’m remembering correctly, she thought she was having a heart attack right after this performance because of how stressful it was. It turned out to just be really bad anxiety after the fact. I can’t blame her. It was something like 7 billion people watching that live, which is most people on the planet lol

Again, I am thrilled you are discovering the Céline I have known for many decades. I remember seeing her in this era... she is a great blend of musicality, vocal stamina and control, charisma... she was meant to be a star. I 1st saw her live when we were both teenagers and remember telling everyone... "if she is well managed, she will be the biggest star! " it was so clear that the combination of gifts that is Céline was putting her on that path. Enjoy discovering more about her. Not everyone can agree on her style or song choice but NO ONE can claim she can't sing. This girl can siiiiiiiiiing! LoL

Yes, me too. Have you ever went to watch and listen to another singer perform and come back to Celine? It’s such a huge difference. I have NEVER heard or felt the way I feel when I watch Celine performs. Even if it’s a song I’ve heard millions of times before. Watching her on stage and that charisma with the vocals are incredible to watch. And…. what you said about “Not everyone can agree on her style or song choice but NO ONE can claim she can't sing” I TOTALLY AGREE.

@@awordfrompresidentpat1985 One very funny testimonial I have read was from a very reluctant husband. His wife dragged him to a Celine concert. You know how wives can be very persuasive at times;). All said and done, now it's HIM who wants to see Celine live again! He said he has never been so moved with so many emotions within a 2 hour span in his whole life! Celine was born to be on the international stage! Her dream came true!

@@awordfrompresidentpat1985 I had friends who danced in her 1st Las Vegas show . I was invite to the show and an after party ( sans Céline ) and one of my friends told me she was thrilled when she got the job but was not a big fan of hers... but, being in Vegas she got to see so many big stars perform and I remember her saying that her respect for Céline talents just grew deeper and deeper . Not noly is she talented and works hard, she was very caring and generous boss. Everyone loved working with her. I had the joy of growing up listening to her and knowing her and I am just happy when younger peeps figure out why she is the star that she is... if you have a min to watch something fun kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIrNk2B_eLlgobs Céline is about 13yo or 14yo in this clip and her siblings surprise her and sing backup... listen to that pure squeal of joy (46sec) when she sees them and then gets back down to business she was so mature and poised at a young age. I love this song! Great reaction, thank you. I’ve read that she either wasn’t feeling well during this or she was extremely nervous and worked so hard on stage that she almost passed out backstage afterward. I’m not sure, but judging by her performance you’d never know. I think one you should react to and that you’d like is her cover of Open Arms at the opening of her Céline residency in Las Vegas. She had just had her twin boys 3-4 months prior to this opening. Her tone of this song is so warm and buttery. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKKllo1qhL5lfpI
