Did Ibanez Copy A FAKE Gibson Moderne Guitar In The 1970s?

In 1975, Ibanez/Greco released their own versions of the Gibson Flying V, Explorer and Moderne guitars. However, the Moderne they copied has never been verified as an original example, and most people who have seen it think that it's a fake.

Can you copy something that might not even existed? Did Ibanez make the first "genuine" Moderene?

They sure did. In 1975. But they definitely copied the original drawings and took inspiration from the one black Moderne they could track down.

@@robdisner Actually, Gibson first issued the Moderne in 1982, along with reissues of the V and Explorer.
