This game is the epitome of HIDDEN GEM. I’m glad I got to experience this in the 90s and now again through emulation.
@TheRestartPoint2 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt' describe it as obscure, it was all over the magazines etc when it came out. but It didn't get the stellar reviews everyone expected at the time. It's an amazing game technically and presentation wise, maybe not the best-playing shmup ever but still holds up due to it's awesome graphical/audio and originality

I remember loving this soundtrack so much when this game first appeared that I would take my tape recorder, hold it up to the TV speaker and press record while playing the game. I would have preferred a sound test menu, but I didn’t mind, instead I’d try to avoid firing at enemies to keep the gun noise down.

You were probably not the only one. I used to connect my TV to my stereo so I could tape my favorite NES and SNES tunes. Had my own GotG awesome tape but filled with 8bit/16bit glory that I took everywhere on my walkman.
@carminelaiettav2315 Жыл бұрын
Dude I did the same thing, except I had figured out how to use the direct stereo out from the SNES into my stereo deck and go directly to tape. But I did the same as you where i just silently flew through levels as much as possible avoiding bullets and not firing just so that I could record the music as cleanly as possible!
@JapanPop Жыл бұрын
Yup. AV out to tape deck. SNES was the soundtrack to my high school days! This game, hands down, one of the best BGM creations of the era.

the only thing that winds me up ahbout this game is the fact that there were only ever 6 levels.......... I remember my mate had this and could never complete it, he was the platfrom king and I was the Shmup king back in 1992. He gave me a lend of this over a weekend and I smashed it. He then said mate, you can keep it and to this day I still have this in it's original box.

Such an iconic OST, easily one of the best on the SNES. Up there with Super Castlevania 4 and Chrono Trigger. Silence still gives me goosebumps, 30 years later. But the whole thing is just banger after banger after banger. Probably the game that made me start appreciating drums as an instrument.
