Everyone goes crazy for Danny's otherworldly drumming on this track but the guitar riffs are pretty cool on Ticks too. Awesome lesson as always Greg. Also, god damn you totally nailed the tone for the clean part!

Will you getting one of Adam's Les Paul's when they're available, Greg?
@bradleybriscoe26084 жыл бұрын
I'm going to take a wild guess and say they are probably going to cost upwards of $6000.00 possibly even more. That's if it's made by Gibson. Epiphone will be 1/4 of that price and I believe they already made/make a 1979 'Silverburst'. Hell, even a Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus cost about $3500.00.
@therealradagast4 жыл бұрын
@@bradleybriscoe2608 maybe speaking out my ass but I dont think there was any talk of Epiphone making one. Id be pretty surprised
@bradleybriscoe26084 жыл бұрын
@@therealradagast Epiphone already makes a Epiphone Les Paul Custom 'Silverburst' just like Adam's, but without the Seymour Duncan JB pickup in the bridge position.
@bradleybriscoe26084 жыл бұрын
@Chese 311 I have played a Epiphone Les Paul Custom 'Silverburst' and it sounded fantastic too me. It just needs a hotter pickup in the bridge position. I think Jones uses a Sermour Duncan JB in his bridge pickup.
@PyramidSkemes4 жыл бұрын
Bradley Briscoe $6K lmao hell no im hoping for the price to be $3k to $4k. If it’s supposed to be a replica of his ‘79 I can’t see them being bogus enough to double the price and I plan on buying as soon as it’s released. 😬

You're too damn good dude! What pedal would you recommend for a beginner (who's almost broke) to try and emulate that tone?
@wi11.0w1sp4 жыл бұрын
Deizel VH4 preamp pedal. Use the volume knob to roll off the gain when needed.
@humzaashraf41084 жыл бұрын
@Chese 311 actually picked up an epiphone les paul SL starter pack that cost me 170, and it's coming with a mini MITYpro amp
@wi11.0w1sp4 жыл бұрын
@Chese 311 I used to have one myself but ended up selling it. I agree with the cabinet and pickup type being major factors in his tone. I use a Marshall JVM, Mesa Triple Crown, and a JMP clone through a 1960A cab and can get very close to his tone with those three heads. A key factor is definitely an EL34 amp head and a medium output A5 pickup. With my setup I tend to prefer the Mesa TC50 with EL34s over the JVM. But both heads are amazing at getting that tone. I know with my experience you can get almost any decent gear setup to mimic his tone as long as you got the right pick attack, nuances, and techniques with some amp settings and playing style.

When Jones goes from Distortion to clean in their songs, is the only change turning of the gain completely? I know it's probably a dumb question but I'm trying to figure out if he goes to a completely different sound preset or just lowers the volume to change the dynamics of the sound.
@ignacy_lukasiewicz4 жыл бұрын
Few years ago I saw some video with Tool guitar technician explaining the stage setup. Jones uses same channel on amp (he runs signal through two amps simultaneously), all changes from clean/crunch to overdrive/distortion is volume pedal and tone pot.
