I have one of the original SCX 10 Honchos, and started off thinking that I was going to build a budget builder truck, oh was I wrong. After many permutations, and a ton of money, I still am not done. I have even gone so far as to stretch the frame, so I can fit a longer body on it. Now, I may be stretching the frame some more, to fit the one off, crew cab, dually, 1979 F350, 3d printed body. This project has grown, and I don't think that budget stays in the build, they always seem to get out of control, and you always end up with something a lot more grand than initially planned. Not that there is anything wrong with it.

After watching your videos along with the scale Builders Guild I decided to buy my first SCX10 II I like the idea of following along with you guys building up this Trail Honcho thank you for all the tips and tricks this truck is great out of the box and even better after I switched the shocks and springs around. I was thinking of getting that S35 compound wild Peaks being as the Tire seem to work pretty well even in the snow I thought the S35 compound would perform even better and still leave me with some good ground clearance. Some companies do you think stamped steel wheels IG Mater SSD would be okay to add some weight without causing damage to the drivetrain? Thanks
@HarleyDesignsInc6 жыл бұрын
I try not to add too much additional weight, I just try to place the items on the truck in a way to keep the weight where I want it. Adding weight is going to break parts, the axle housings would be a high concern.

So my Hobbywing 1080 ESC has a continuous of 80A and a peak of 400A. Does that mean I need to find a lipo to match that peak? My scx102 is just for crawling and trail runs.
@HarleyDesignsInc6 жыл бұрын
It’s the motor that you need to look at most, however an 80a continuous isn’t hard to achieve. The peak is kind of bogus as there is no consistent measure of what peak is in batteries.

Hey I was wondering I know it doesn't have to do with this week but did you do anything with the shock oil when switched the springs and the rear shock towers around?

I did not change anything on the shock oil. The stock shocks barely hold the oil in as is :-) I’ll do more shock tuning down the road.

Damn Josh! What happened to that prerunner bumper? Drive into a sink garbage disposal? Slick light buckets too. All these upgrades are great but how long till you blow the budget and bolt up some VP goodies!? Sbg is killing you right now.
@HarleyDesignsInc6 жыл бұрын
There will be plenty of time for VP parts, the good stuff has to come with time! Matt is getting lucky that he can’t drive his so he gets to do all the fun appearance stuff. I’ll get to appearance as we go, but since I’m driving it a lot, I want to prioritize performance.

Those tail lights are sweet! I knew that a lot of companies are full of crap on the C rating, I'm sorry but if you're paying $25 on eBay for a 3s that says it's 100c you should be smart enough to know it's not true lol I know traxxas batteries are quite realistic on their C rating. I think onyx batteries are too, do you know of any other brands that are actually truthful on that?
@HarleyDesignsInc6 жыл бұрын
I’ve never ran Traxxas Lipos so I’ve never researched them. There are many solid companies since most lipos come out of a small number of factories.

Excellent video Josh!! I'm STILL wheelin' with NiMh!! 😵😱 Hey, I'm Old! THANK YOU though for that comprehensive explanation of Lipos. If I can ever afford the Lipos and Charger.... I might. I understand the advantages, and thanks to you, I now understand that "C Rating"! I thought it had something to do with output, but that's all I knew. Those taillights look GREAT! I have a very long list of things at Shapeways that I'd love to have. I'm trying to make the Wraith I'm building, as unique as I can make a Wraith!! 3D Printing is definitely the way. I'm so far behind that when I can finally afford a 3D Printer, I'm going to be lost past the point of turning the unit ON. 😫 I know NOTHING about CAD, and that's just going to make it worse. Oh well, Anything can happen in the future, right? Thank you for taking the time to do so many informative Videos!! Carmine 🚂

Andrew Odom they are two different materials, Shapeways doesn’t allow mixing and matching of materials within a “product”. That’s how every other store on Shapeways has to do it as well.
@odomandr6 жыл бұрын
Harley Designs my apologies I thought it was how you setup the store.
