Great advice Coach Joe. I have a great network of gyms, and currently training clients inside the gym and in my home gym. It’s not in my nature to just randomly comment on someone else’s form, and I can definitely understand how it could come off the wrong way, and greatly reduce your chances of getting new clients. I love seeing my gym friends and stopping for a quick chat in between sets. When I train my clients I am very focused on correct form because I don’t want them to injure themselves. I also really want them to get the most out of each rep. I really try to discuss the importance of the form before they start the exercise, so that they are more empowered going into it. I love your content! Always solid 💯

Haha I love the beginning of the video, that’s literally me when I’m working out at the park, and I see someone doing a plank with their elbows not stacked underneath their shoulders 😅

Is it okay to wear outfits that say "Personal Trainer" in a gym that you don't work for?

Ahhhh - great question! We’re all for advertising yourself and making sure people know what you do, but the training community is small. You’re always better off building great relationships with trainers and gyms and I’d say wearing a “TRAINER” shirt purposely on someone else’s turf would be a little distasteful. Take all of the other advice in this video but don’t spend time trying to poach in other gyms - don’t want to try and build a business with questionable ethics. Karma will get you at some point.
