Great vid! Thx for sharing. I know from experience it is so easy to make mistakes with these types of vids. 14:32 min: “1 guy will move from NORMANDY to Finland” 😂. Italy buying a aircraft carrier turn 2, interesting...

Dutch Lancaster You mean you don't have super fast infantry, that can move in both combat and noncombat phases, and over water without the need for transports?? Just kidding. Good catch! That infantry comes from Norway.

Jonathan Meyer; LOL, there should be infantry like these as back-up, to correct for mistakes 🙃. I have a keen ear for details; although... On one of my vids I said Norway whilst pointing at Finland 😅

@@JonathanMeyer84 I personally I have even faster infantry that can go from the USA to UK in 0.5 turns

I think a German turn 1 air base purchase and 2 transports could strongly influence the Toranto raid, placing the air base in Holland with 3 fighters now protecting the damaged German battleship in zone 110. The remaining German cruiser & transports put in zone 113 with the 2 new transports, these are only threatened by one aircraft and easily defended with the air base and aircraft on it. With about a $70+ income, Germany can buy 10 transports to add to the 3 and 13 transports is a serious turn 2 threat to England, and the English might not risk battle with the damaged German battleship + 3 fighters, 2 subs sinking the Gibraltar cruiser may well change the English decision to the Toronto raid, adding the German fighter to southern Italy further confounding the English planning.

I thought about building a Minor Industrial Complex with Germany in Jugoslavia Turn 2. So i can either build ships in the Medditeranian and help Italy in Africa and the Middle East or I can build ground troops to help at the Eastern Front. What do you guys think about it?

Turn 3 seems like a long time to allow the Soviets to build up, any thoughts on a turn 1 or latest turn 2 strike through The southern path?

While Germany could attack Russia on any of those turns, I would generally shy away from doing it turn one. Reason being you'd have to do it without most of your air support and without most of your tanks. In fact, the bulk of your starting tanks will be further away from Russia at the end of Turn 1 since they'll be in France. The earliest you can use them in an Eastern Front operation would be turn 3. Likewise, the earliest you can bring all that production you seized by taking Paris to bare is turn 3. Turn 2 is a little better than Turn 1 because at least you have your newly purchased offense and have reorganized your Eastern Front units in a more optimal fashion compared to their starting arrangement. If attacking on turn 1, the only Russian units you'll kill are infantry. If Russia had a few tanks on the border, attacking on turn 1 to wipe them out would be a big plus. Another reason it is important for Germany to arrange its forces at the end of turn 1 in such a way that they could attack turn 2 (even though they don't plan to until turn 3) is because it will allow them to exploit the situation should Russia do something foolish like move tanks to the front.

Jonathan Meyer I see your point, I have tried sired turn 1 strategies on Triple A and they didn't work out well for me, even using Yugoslavia retreat as a cheap way to get units to Romania quicker. I typically have held my air force on the Western front but will have to try moving them to the eastern offensive. Thank you for these videos always enjoy them.

Matthew Camara Glad to help! I plan to take a look at a Turn 1 or Turn 2 attack in greater detail to see if I can get to a point where I feel it's viable. My intuition tells me that Round 3 is the ideal time to strike, but I might surprise myself; we shall see.

Turn 1 is extremly risky, Germany has a lot off units but not all can reach G1.

Sea Lion should not be possible with a sound UK player. Only if England is almost empty is it at all possible. Leningrad/Novogrod is easy to take, the issue really is the southern front and Moscow . Moscow can build up into a fortress.

What would the carrier be used for? The Mediteranian is so small that generally the Italian fighters can land anyways.
@JonathanMeyer84
@JonathanMeyer84 6 жыл бұрын
Hitting Syria and Trans-Jordan, as well as for defensive purposes. It would also allow fighters deployed all the way on one side of the Mediterranean to hit targets all the way on the other side the following turn.

On the board you placed a factory and an air base in the territory Vologda, just outside of Moscow/Russia where it was supposed to be.

Oh yes, you are correct. After reading your comment, I looked at Volvograd, which correctly had just a factory in it.

how are the figher/tac going from Berlin to SZ 110 without building a carrier to land them? there is no AB in Berlin so the tac/figher can only move 4. seems to me that you need a carrier to land them if you want to make that attack.

@@JonathanMeyer84 Sorry, not SZ110. SZ111. You picked up two bombers, a tac and a fighter from Berlin and moved them to SZ111 for the attack. How are the tac/fighter landing without a carrier?

@@alexxx101 It looks like I moved the planes that I could with one hand (the other was holding the camera) without making a mess and taking extra time to straighten it up. If you allocate the planes from Holland, Norway, Germany, and W Germany appropriately, you should end up with the number and type of planes mentioned in the video in all of the indicated territories with the remaining movement mentioned (2 for nearly all of them).
