Thanks Fenris! My group used to dog on me for my unconventional tactics, they were all text book YoungGrasshopper video players, if I didn't do those moves I was basicly throwing the game lol.... but then... I started to always win, now the dogging has stopped, and when we play, I see my moves being used now, even against me haha.

if your strategy is only to build 3 tanks on turn 2 then you will have 45 extra ipcs you can use to build your cargo army on western germany , and the way this strategy go you won't have enough money to buy 9 transports 30 origin + 19 france money + 8 new occupied territories = 62 , so there is no reason for you to send an extra infantry and artillery from germany to w .g and send them over to moscow , it is not that huge thing but sometime 1 unit make the diffrence . another note : instead of buying a fighter on turn 1 you should build a submarine to use it on turn 2 to block the russian bonus as you are advancing south and you will have 4 ipcs left to build 1 infantry in western germany and save 1 , so you will have 63 on turn 2 to spend , this will leave with following options : 1 - uk didn't build enogh defense so you can and take on turn 3 ( which is unlikely to happen ) , but the dissadvantage of this you will not be preducing anything in romania factory , so this will slow you for taking moscow . 2- uk did fortify so comlete the plan as planned and feed the romania factory ukraine on round 3 and keep stacking units in the western front ready for the invasion there will be definitly enough money for you to build the required units in western germany , the units that needed for the transports i usually kepp them in germany because there is no point of moving them to western germany if you build another , and these units can reach moscow on turn 6 as planned . the reason you don't buy a fighter on round 1 that you really need it , because if u.k didn't scramble you will almost all your 5 fighter and they all can make it back to western germany , if he did then the only risk is russia and they don't have enough to fight at least 3 scramble and detroyer , criuser . ik the video is very old but i just watched it and it is great love the plan . and the BBR is something in a really diffrent level

This is a wonderful strategy video. I just wanted to ask a few things. If you are able to do Sea Lion, how do you get all 10 transports needed for the invasion force? The 9 you would need to buy exceed the IPC's Germany has Turn 3. I'm sure there's something I'm missing there. Second, once you take Ukraine, where would you go next, Stalingrad or Russia? And on the topic of Stalingrad, how would you take it Turn 4? I heard you saying that, but I believe any intelligent Russia player would put up blockers to prevent that. Sorry for hitting you with this essay. Yet again, thanks for a wonderful strategy!

By the time U.S. gets there, Italy and Germany have built up so much, the U.S. landing force will have its leg swept by the Kobra Kai! "Sweep the leg!"

Ya for sure, this fortify strategy is pretty strong... Ive never been broken yet, sure allies will take something, then ill take it back, march up 10 more German units replace. You also have Italy doing what they can as well. Remember if your getting hammered, all this means is Japan is killing it, and that a huge win for the Axis. What the allies will try is land with US, and reinforce with UK. All Axis needs is Infantry, Allies need all sorts of stuff to break through, this war is costing the Allies more then it costs the Axis, holding the lines is not too difficult.... retaking a territory is easy as well, attack with Air support, remember move up your AAA guns, Italy starts with 4, W Germany 3 (the other 3 in Germany went to Russia).

How do you take Moscow if all your money is going toward infantry to fortify?

From what I understood, he buys 3 tanks for east front each turn, starting turn 2, perhaps 6 on turn 4 (after capturing Ukraine). You'll have 65-70 start turn 2, ~40 start turn 3, lets say 105 total, -6 tanks is 70 IPCs left, that's plenty infantry for the West Front. Turn 4 you'll have even more income and I don't think USA comes over much sooner than turn 5. I mean in a Global they can but then they'll have invested so much in Europe, Japan will win anyway :D

Great video Siredblood! In your experience, what has been the typical Russia response to a G1 attack? Pull back for defense of Moscow/Leningrad/etc...? ...or an immediate counter punch?

I like to counter for sure.... just like Germany cant allow Russia to build up, neither can Russia allow it..... also, side note, great new channel you have.... sorry ive been busy, but ill be mentioning you on my next drink vid.

Hi, Sired. Like to discuss your Cobra Kai Strat. I am a great fan of the game. Hope you will make an video on how to progress in to Russia in turn 3 to 5. How do Russia respond and so on.. When i discuss this game, it is with the New Tournamentrules of Y.G. First of, when i watched your strat. the first time, i asked my self: Why have i not thought about this my self...? My answer to my question was. I do not believe it is possible, to win this way. Giving Russia better position (Now they can go on the offence from turn1), give up NO for Germany (Trade with Russia). Giving 9 pic to Italy (Greece, Yugo., South France and Normandy ) Then Russia get 10 IPC in NO for being in war. Giving up Norway / Finland. Giving up the Mediterian. Thats all the money Axis will need to grow. The Strat. is losing from the very start i think. Germany on a very strict time table. Need to take moscow in turn 5 or at least in turn 6. Before the reinforcement (18 inf. 2 AAA) from fare east comes over. I am guessing now, but i think you have played against a Russian player, that do Passive defence (Stacing in UKR and Moscow). Just waiting for Germany to run in to them with all Luftwaffe and Tanks. But if Russia do active defence(give up a territory and counter attack), and retreat out of UKR. Waiting for Germany to take it in turn 3. Then the Luftwaffe can't support the Germans attack on UKR. or in their defence of UKR. And UKR. will be taken out bye Russia turn 3. But to do that the Russians will Bye 3 tanks in Stalingrad and 3 in Arckangelsk first turn. Then Pushing in to Finland / Norway. Take the 21 IPC swing (like 83% of the money island value in pic swing of 24 pic. it is a lot of money that Germany will lose for sure) UK will bomb the fleet in baltic. They do not worry about Selion, bec. in your strat. you are building an atlantic wall when the US ar going all in to Atlantic. Those IPC fra Norway / Fin. goes directly to the defence of Moscow. From turn 3 or 4. This money takes out most of what Germany will take in IPC, If they manage to push through UKR. I see that Germany has not lost any inf. in Yug. Bes. and E. Poland. They will lose 3 inf. on average when hitting 9 inf. (5 in Yug., 2 in Bes. and 2 in E. Pol.) of Russia. Think in your set up Germany have a too great start (That is not supporting the idea of your strat. effectiveness in my opinion). I would like to see an Video, where the average hits are taken into account. That will show if a move has a positive outcome in the long run (witch a sound strat. should have, in my opinion). Any way, thanks for shearing your ideas. I have learned alot about how to counter an G1 all out attack on Russia. In my opinion this Cobra Kai strat. is not going to work agains an well defended Russia. There are several reasons for this: 1. Germany gives up lots of position. Letting Russia in to the game 2. Gives up its of flexibility, only going East. Gives up the North Flank, Med and Selion. Putting Germany all inn, an if failed against Russia, it collapses. And it will in my opinion. Hope to discuss it more in detail with you... :)

I agree with you. I don't think the Russian players he has faced knew how to play Russia. Actively falling back and counter attacking is the way to play them. Going south as he says put german forces within striking distance from Moscow which will bring all of Russian power to bear on the army going into Ukraine.

@@danielhartley9003 In most electronic games it’s easier to stop the German advance south of the Prippet marshes. UK /ANZAC planes plus the French fighter can land on the Russian stack to defend and gain another turn.

When the Americans are having their focus on Europe and the Axis have not captured London, the strategy is to protect western Europe with masses of infantry. This strategy seems sound. What is the backup plan when the USA decides to unload in Scandinavia/Archangel, in order to liberate Russia - instead of taking France? Is this a threat?

My only criticism is a Russian counterattack in Bessarabia throws you a turn off. I usually wait until turn two to take that in order to hold.

Wow. Pow pow pow! 💥 💥 This strategy appears immune to dicing. Since sub 87 will likely die, if Germany is left with a second sub after The English channel wouldn't it be a good idea to send it up to Archangel where neither sub nor aircraft can hit it? Then you throw UK off and still prevent their NO. Also except for the sub going to 87 I am a little bit confused about the other sub assignments.is it still two to the English channel one to the north Atlantic And one to see zone 109? Finally. What will you do with all of the 10 transports? Do you keep them in the Baltic to a wait another Sealion possibly on round eight or nine? And which round should be the first round to buy and put the two transports in the Black Sea and the airbase in Romania? And finally finally, how do you detail Tax bombers to Romania and get them back to west Germany in time for the first Sealion attempt? Tef

So, you covered if Russia attacks Bessarabia, but what if Russia attacks Eastern Poland? I tried this strategy playing against myself, and as Russia I attacked both Eastern Poland and Bessarabia to kill all 3 tanks + infantry. Ukraine force + 1 Fighter from Moscow -> Bessarabia, Western Ukraine + Belarus + Baltic States + Tac Bomber + Fighter -> Eastern Poland. This left Germany significantly under-manned as they no longer had many tanks on the western front come turn 2.

Lets say you did that, and Germany lost everything (2 tanks and 5 Infantry Eastern Poland) (1 tanks and 1 Infantry Bess) There is no way Russia came out ahead, if your fighter and tac survived E.Poland, your lucky, you brought in 8 vs 8... 1/2 of which Russia is rolling 1's.... lets just say for the sake of this, Russia had a land unit left, and reclaimed E Poland.... Now on their non combat they have to basically evacuate Leningrad to replace all the troops they lost on the front.... Now the German troops in Finland are looking good, may even have to transport some units early take advantage. This is the main reason Germany does not attack turn 2 (not this attack by Russia, but in general) Germany is not in position yet. Turn 2 Germany will build 3 tanks in Romania, Romania troops (6+ Infantry and 2 artillery) move in Bess, followed by the 4 Infantry and Tank in Bulgaria., They can also take advantage of the window Russia just made, and make tanks in Germany if needed, though I don't think it is. Russia just threw 12 units at me, and more then likely lost 8.... making the German advance easier, as this battle was too close to home for Germany, the Romania factory is a killer. Germany will basically walk into Ukraine (maybe Russia purchased 3 units for it, maybe you landed fighter there, who cares. In addition, if Russia took E. Poland, the 4 fighters and 2 bombers will support the Infantry and Artillery that moved there on turn 1 to quickly reclaim, as I mentioned Russia would be lucky to have a land unit left in the first place. Turn 3 Germany will have Ukraine and be pumping units where they need to be. Thanks for the comment, I love talking tactics! ... Also, I like how you rolled it out, I do the same thing, best way to try new ideas.... make sure the rolls work first! Ill generally roll 5/6 times, take the average.

How about 1tac,2fig,1art,5 inf vs 2tank, 5 inf (2of3 times only 4inf) in East Polen. That should do it. Then Germany lose momentum and can not take Ukr. on turn 3.If they do, then Russia can Counter it. Think Germany are on a very strict time table. If slowed Down two turns. It will have to fight all the troops form fare east of Russia. That is 18 inf and 2 AAA reinforcement in Moscow. Pluss additional placements from two full rounds of prod. Think it is possible to stop Germany, if you attack them before they can stack in Bessarabia (turn2). With active defence (give ground and Counter attack), not just stacking and waiting for the Germans to roll over Ukr. That way Luftwaffe cant suport the advancement, or the defence of the new ground (like Ukr.). :)

You (siredblood) don't hit Baltic States? Then I would totally attack E Poland with the 6 ground units in range plus ftr/tac to kill the 7 units. You've lost me on how this sets the Soviets back. You could still hit Bessarabia with 1ftr 3inf.

I see a flaw in this strategy. Russia can counter attack Finland and win every time then they can easily take Norway the next turn giving them an automatic 9 pics per turn. this is why I prefer attacking g2. then you can put planes on finland if u need to

My answer to this would be : let them do it. The first time I tried this strategy that's exactly what the soviets did : I freaked out and sent almost my entire air force over to Finland. I did deter them, but then because of that, when I walked into Bryansk with my southern force from Ukraine, they counter-attacked me and because my air force wasn't in range, there was nothing I could do. The second time however, I thought : "If they attack, then I seriously don't care". It worked perfectly. When I took Moscow (turn 5 or 6, can't remember), a big part of the soviet army was still stuck in Karelia and Novgorod. If anything, I think that on R1 they need to withdraw from Vyborg and Karelia and move the units from Novgorod (Leningrad) to Belarus.

your not, you feed the Russia advance till turn 4. (not all tanks access what you need by what you lose)... then IF America is geared to go to SZ91 youll buy the 21 infantry.... basically make the iron wall along with Italy... then go back to smashing.

Im pretty passionate when it come to strategy, I feel I need to explain why do to something, rather then just say do this... in addition, I mentioned was my 3rd time doing this vid due to several things going wrong.... hard to remember what you already said, since you did say it on another attempt.... or was it this attempt lol.... thanks for the comment!

I feel like you emphasise that German sub going down to SZ 87 way too much. I feel you could afford to lose it. odds are, by the time UK collects its income turn 1 there will still be an Italian sub in SZ 95, thus denying them of that extra 5 IPCs. Even if Italy loses it in an attack turn 1, Germany could buy a single sub turn 2 and place it in one of the Baltic sea zones to prevent UK from collecting that bonus turn 2. And if you send that sub going to SZ 87 to SZ 106 instead, by potentially destroying that destroyer and transport, you eliminate the potential of London being reinforced with Canadian troops too. Sure you have the cost of 2 infantry by buying a sub G2, but you also have two less units in London to deal with if you do end up going for a sealion

Italian subs do not take away the UK 5 IPC, only German, and yes, Germany could buy a sub every turn, but that's not efficient, GE spends 6 to 5, and really GE cannot afford it, if they could, they would take Normandy and put Infantry there and forget the sub.Also, if you are not playing the tournament rules, then yes, you go to SZ 106.

My mistake, YG (if we are talking about his tournament rules) changed his tournament house rules since last i looked, and also ruled out subs in Baltic, Caspian or Black seas it turns out. If those changes had not happened I still feel it would have been effective strategy, but sadly not I wasn't suggesting a single sub every turn , just as a one off to prevent that 5 IPCs for the UK that could be left on its own long term

For sure, Italy sub would have been great! Also, there will be some instances youll have a sub left in SZ 111, which would change things but you cant leave it to chance. IF you did buy a sub turn 1, then you could not get the items I listed, then if you bought a sub turn 2, for it to effect UK, if would have to be placed in SZ 112 which is in range for the destroyer in 109 with air support, if would be a instant win for UK, thus wasting 6 IPC for Germany when they cannot afford it.... when UK sends the transport to 106, there is no reason for the destroyer to go with it.... if there is no sub in 87, there is again no reason for the destroyer to leave. In addition, IF 109 destroyer leaves, it will be replaced with 106 destroyer, 106 will go to 109 turn 1.... point is, if there is no reason for the destroyers to leave, there will always be 1 in range with air support. The bonus is only UK problem till US enters, once US enters, German subs are doomed. (unless the one in 87 got away)

You know, I hadn't even considered one of the other subs surviving as I was only thinking about your example shown in the video, it's very possible. But regarding placing a sub in 112, what if you had your fighters in western Germany (I can't remember where you placed them at the end of turn 1), you then have a scramble for that sea zone. While I'm not suggesting actually scrambling in the event of an attack, a combined air and destroyer attack becomes costly as if the sub makes a hit, it has to take out the destroyer, and it risks losing British planes which are direly needed to defend a sealion. It could make an effective deterrent that way? Admittedly uk could wait for that second destroyer, then gang up, but it takes time for the uk to respond when it's got a lot to worry about Maybe I'm clasping at my own ideas too much, but I agree that typically German subs are ultimately not long lived in most games regardless

I'm gonna help you out siredblood. With this strategy of distracting uk while putting only half your strength against Russia, don't fool around with waiting to get Ukraine to bolster your production in the south. Upgrade Romanian industry to a major on turn 2 so you don't tie your hands so much. A competent Russian player will crush you fighting so close just south of Moscow unless you can outproduce them fast.

I don’t see how you take Russia unless against a complete Russian noob. Any decent Russian player crushes this. You don’t send hardly any units that way, reserving everything for sea lion and western defense

His plan would not work against competent players on TripleA who have upwards of 200-300+ games under their belt. No way he sends enough troops against Russia. Allies just have to land a few planes on the Russian stack at Bryansk on turn 4.
