In this video I show you how I setup my Axminster AC254TS table saw. I bought this with my own money and this video isn't sponsored by Axminster.

Are you able to lower the blade to the lowest position at 45° tilt? I can not do it with older model as the saw blade guard catching the frame. Thanks

Very nice just 1 thing only check any angle from the iron top as this is where your wood is running on & the blade is referred to Not the outfeed wings they will never really be level with the iron top Have fun with it & have a great new year 🤪🤪

Can only agree! If you see from my video - my red face and all the panting and staining I do, you can tell its a heavy bugger. Still to this day I don't know how I manged to get it down my cellar steps and onto a bench on my own. Especially when you are carrying your own body weight. I am wondering if this was what gave me my Hieta hernia. Great video, and glad you got there in the end. 😄😎👍

Thanks Reuben. I should consider myself lucky that mine was on level ground and I didn’t have any steps to contend with. The things we do eh? needs must.

Looking forward on a review. I really like this machine.. Don't know if I need to buy the 216 or the 254..(i have a machine like that now).. I however seldom use the max. cutting depth.. Cheers like you vid's

You really should get the 254 over the 216 because 254 mm blades are MUCH MORE easier to find.

Lets see the review and some timber run through the machine. It looks like its a beauty for small to medium jobs. Liked and subbed.

I also just bought this saw, very useful to see how you are setting it up. I see you have a portable dust extractor, do you use it for this saw? I don't have an extractor yet, so I was wondering if it is powerful enough - and what your experiences are in general. Thanks for sharing this video!
@jamiesworkshopprojects1617

Hi buddy thanks for watching my video! I have 2 dust extractors neither of which are powerful enough for this saw. The one I have linked up to the saw is a SIP 50L which looks to be a generic machine offered by different brands. It’s ok in terms of ‘better than having nothing’ but it struggles leaving a lot of sawdust on the front of the table. This is the one I’m considering upgrading to one powerful enough

Thanks for the video, looks a nice table saw, but the fence is a deal breaker for me, never getting another table saw with a fence that does not pull in tight at both ends.

@@jamiesworkshopprojects1617 I needed portability so dewalt was just the ticket, its been out of commission for a while now due to water damage from roof leak, cracking job site saw, throw a decent blade in an with the aid of jigs and a sled it gives consistent results beyond its "ripping sheets on site" pedigree. Now im in the market for something portable without breaking the bank as i wont be using it constantly. (oh forgot to say, i got rid of my makita for the dewalt, and that really hurt as i love my makita tools)
@jamiesworkshopprojects1617
@jamiesworkshopprojects1617 3 жыл бұрын
Good choice, this isn’t portable 😅. I did consider the dewalt, well what I could figure was the latest model anyway because they weren’t selling the dw745 anymore. There’s a few job sites saws which have a bigger ripping capacity than this but it was the induction motor which was the main reason I got this

Looks like a lovely bit of kit. I’d love something like that but my workshop isn’t big enough (check out my shop tour video to see what I mean) at just 12 x 8. I think I’m gonna have to go with a site saw which I can collapse and wheel around when needed. How much did the table saw cost?
@jamiesworkshopprojects1617
@jamiesworkshopprojects1617 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. The saw is probably smaller than a job site saw without the extension wings on but the selling point for me was the saw having a induction motor.

Hi Jamie, Was thinking about buying a new Axminster AC254TS table saw like yours. Just wondering if you are still planning to do a review on it ? Would be good to find out more on it before I buy it, as not too many proper reviews on You Tube currently. Hope things going well, including the table saw 🤣. Many thanks Mark 👍

Hi Mark thanks for your comment. I am planning on doing a review but I’ll give you a quick run through. The saw is great, I love it but I am biased because of what I upgraded from. Induction motor - great, fairly quiet and powerful enough for hardwoods I’ve used. Fence is great but wish the saw had a rip capacity of 60cm. Blade change is easy Blade lift and tilt is really smooth my dust extractor is way underpowered so i get sawdust build up at the front of the saw. Hope this helps but anything you want to know, just ask buddy 🙂

Hi Jamie, Thanks for the heads up, much appreciated 👍. Sounds great, currently I have a DeWalt 745. Great jobsite saw but so loud and dust extraction not brilliant. I will defo order one, but might only go for 1 machine wax 🤣👍 Just out of interest, watch badger workshop. He has the AC216TS, so pretty much the same saw except for blade size and a bit less powerful. Anyways he moved his left hand side extension table to the right hand-side. Just did a couple of simple alterations. This gives him i think over 70cm cutting capacity on the right, so he can cut full sheets if need be? kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZyTeIWFYrSed5I On dust exteaction I bought a twin motor camvac from record power. Superb and will suck your arm off when two motors on. Defo recommend and especially if your looking at ducting the system. Thanks again mate Cheers Mark👍

The motor is the main reason I wanted to upgrade from my old saw because it became too embarrassing to use. The induction motor on this is a lot quieter and doesn’t sound like a jumbo jet taking off in my garage. I’ve seen the video, I’m subscribed to his channel as well 😁 he had a good idea to extend the capacity to 70cm. Oh wow, I just had a look eat the vac and it’s definitely worth considering. It’s a little more expensive than the Axminster one I was looking at but will fit under my workbench where my current one is, thanks for the recommendation 👍🏻

Great mate. If you do go the CamVac then make sure it’s the twin motor Jamie as makes a huge difference. Yeh agree a bit pricey, but I guess with these things you get what you pay for? But definitely recommended. 👍 Quite funny really as I think most of us all follow the same guys. John McGrath a good one as well.
