Well I know that most of the band and the choir are a sort of house band for these honors. So they probably had a few run throughs without the sisters. Jason would know the song like the back of his hand, and I bet Ann and Nancy did not have to learn their parts either. And during that rehearsal they may have run through the song a few times

Ann Wilson is one of the only singers, male or female, who can do Led Zeppelin justice. I saw the “Stairway” performance in real time and have since watched it innumerable times. One of the greatest covers of ANY song. Ever.

I met Robert Plant on Sept. 15th, 2015 and I told him the performance by Heart was amazing and he said, “Yes, it was a pleasure to watch them perform.” He was gracious and very funny. I will never forget that day and this performance.

As a 12 year old I was playing by the creek with a friend of mine when I heard live music coming from a house on Marine Drive in West Vancouver. A year and a bit later my first high school dance in grade 8 was HEART!! I'm 65 now and they remain the greatest northwest band to ever exist.

Anns vocals particularly in the last part of the song are enough to bring anyone to tears. Her voice was so raw and emotional is pant hadn't been brought to tears something ain't right inside of him. She almost gets me with the emotion she puts into the line To be a rock and not to roll. The hair on the back of my neck stands up just thinking about a woman her age still belting it out there like that.

Ann Wilson the greatest Female Rock singer of all time with Nancy Wilson does a tribute song of Stairway to Hevan for Led Zeppelin in front of Led Zeppelin and blows the roof off of the Kennedy Center with what has got to be the greatest cover of a song of all time. I have watched that video hundreds of times and I am Godsmack'd every time. The video of that performance needs to be put into the Smithsonian to be seen forever.

Nancy, Ann and their band were spectacular. Yes, Jason Bonham, the son of the late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, played drums for Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Led Zeppelin. Brought tears to my eyes seeing Led Zeppelin so moved by the performance. Ann’s vocals are outta this world! Amazing!

Normally the advice to anyone who wants to do Stairway is: NO! Really, no. So I dreaded hearing Ann and Nancy doing it - even though I loved Heart. But they achieved the near impossible: performing it well enough for even Zep to love it. Truly amazing. If you haven't seen it (there must be someone out there!) then do watch this fantastic performance.

I have had the good fortune to attend most of the KCH events the last 20yrs, and I vividly remember when Heart performed STH. The energy in the Opera House was next level by the end, and it was extremely moving. When the choir was revealed, there was a pause before we realized who they were, and then the place ERUPTED! The only other time there was that much energy, IMO, was when Kings of Leon, et al, played as part of the Eagles tribute - seeing people like SCOTUS Justice Roberts rocking-out was a sight.

That choir was way over the top .But it fitted STH like a glove. And Robert was crying over something different then the song . Seen him so that when playing with Bonzo jr. Gets me every time too. Did you catch the moment when he looked up to his dad. Imagine that , him playing "his dad's" most famous song. For his dad's band. Magic moments.

I went to a Heart concert in 1978 at the Met sports center in Bloomington mn, I worked my way from the nosebleed section to the front of the stage, when they did "Breads" I cant live, Ann looked down at this skinny 22 year old lanky kid with a curly wavey afro style head of hair, winked at me, and leaned down and kissed me right on the lips!. I thought for sure i walked the stairway to Heaven that night! Nothing in my life has been a greater experience than that besides the birth of my 2 Kids and Grand Children.

Moments like this come only a very few times in the career of any musician. When the pieces are just right, the stars align, the jumbled kaleidescope suddenly clicks into place, the clouds clear away, the fog lifts.....whatever metaphor you wish to use, everything just came together perfectly. I think it's called magic. BTW....My personal favorite Heart song is "Wait For An Answer". I have a feeling that one is very difficult for Ann to perform.
