Magearna is a weird case because it just straight up didn’t have a shiny, even in the code, until Pokémon Home, and the one they made for Pokémon Home is based on the one from the anime which doesn’t have any of its markings colored, so the anime one wasn’t intended to be shiny, and actually came first. It was only intended to look worn originally

I’m actually more of the former description. Here are all the Shinies I found over the years: my first was a Shiny Poochyena in Omega Ruby, I found it immediately after becoming the Champion of Hoenn for the first time, so I like to think it’s the Shiny Poochyena everyone couldn’t catch in R/S/E lol. Next, in Pokémon Sun, while trying to farm Thick Clubs to use for my VGC 2017 Team with Alolan Marowak, I found a Shiny Fletchling instead. Closing off Gen 7, in Pokémon Ultra Sun, while trying to get certain Legendaries via the Ultra Wormholes, I stumbled upon two Shinies of Sigilyph and Swanna. And finally, when doing some Max Raids Online in Pokémon Sword, I found a 5 IV Shiny G-Max Appletun, which I didn’t have a Master Ball for, so I breathed a huge sigh of relief when my Ultra Ball did the trick! And again, I found these by ACCIDENT and WITHOUT the Shiny Charm!

@@georgecortes3416 Lucky, I've only ever found two Shinies randomly. The first was in Diamond on my first ever Pokemon playthrough, I had beaten the seventh gym and was doing random stuff outside Celestic town. I assume just roaming around with no purpose while trying to figure out I had to go to Mt. Coronet. I met a green Zubat and only knew what a shiny was due to my friends. I can remember that it fled, but looking back I'm not sure if any pokemon can flee without teleport or being a roaming legendary, so I might have knocked it. My second shiny was a random Wailmer in ORAS, don't remember where or how I encountered it, but I caught it. After that, I started shiny hunting on occasions, gotten a couple from that. I've also had some insane luck with max raid shinies, but I assume it's people resetting then hosting again.

(not including ultra warp ride) , being both of them in my most recent pokemon y play through. The first one was a starly and i was hiped cuz i`ve always wanted to use a shiny pokemon in a playthrough, and the very next day the game blessed me with the second shiny, a murkrow. Since then pokemon y is my favourite pokemon game since i loved it and i enjoy having a ton of ways to shiny hunt

If you want to be that technical, I challenge your claim. A shiny Ho-oh has [white] tail feathers. In that episode, it was shown as all gold. Its shiny form is not all gold. So, the Ho-oh's color in the first episode is merely a variant. Not his shiny form colors.

The Crystal Onix could be a regional variant, although, I would consider that closer to a mutation, since it was only a singular Pokemon, and not an entire species. And the Pokemon at Professor Ivy's just had different patterns than normal. Same thing with Arbok. It has slightly different patterns in different regions, but those are Regional Variants of the Pokemon. Just...different patterns. If you get what I mean.

6:52 this is also, as far as I know, the ONLY time in the entire anime where they actually refer to a shiny Pokemon AS a "Shiny {blank}", in this case Onix. Ash actually says the line "That's a Shiny Onix". every other time a Shiny shows up in the anime they just call it a "Special colored {blank}" or some variation of that.

Actually, while it is shiny locked so it can't be shiny hunted in gen 7, it was possible to get the shiny version of it through a event in Sun and Moon legally. I actually have an event shiny Tapu Koko on my copy of Sun, and can confirm it's legit because I got myself while the event had been going on. So yeah, technically you're kinda right about it not being able to just be encountered, but it was still possible to get the shiny without cheating/hacking....

I'm a huge nerd and remembered one you missed: The first blue ditto was in Kanto, from the ep 37, "Ditto's Mysterious Mansion" This is also the ep where ditto got it's iconic face from, where one of the ditto can't transform entirely. I remember the tribal gengar and simsala. It honestly kinda feels like I dreamed it and not actually saw that episode. Always wished to get them ingame And the fact that Ash never managed to evolve his pokemon bothered me very early on. Would have liked to see bulbasaurs or squirtels last evolution in action. That's really a bummer and just disappointing. That's why I can't rewatch the old pokemon episodes, but could rewatch the first two seasons of digimon over and over again, even tho I didn't really like them as a child. Also the always repeating pattern of all episodes makes it so boring to watch. Why do Jessy and James even continue even tho Team Rocket doesn't exist anymore. Is this new anime different? In that way? No Team R, more interesting stories for the episodes? Maybe even with a bigger and better continues story telling and general, meaning that every single episode isn't just short story? More like The legend of Korra, instead of The legend of Aang?
