In the original ending for "Ice Age", Diego, the main saber-tooth tiger, was going to die, but the kids they brought in for the test screening reacted negatively to it, so they changed the ending to have him come back. That's probably why he was all mangled when he reunited with them at the end of this recap.

6:27 Blue Sky Studios, the company that made the Ice Age films, was bought by Disney a few years ago, but it shut down like 2 years ago ‘cause COVID came down hard on them. But Disney released some new spin-off series with the weasel guy from the 3rd Ice Age movie (hence why someone from Disney shows up in this scene to confront Scrat)

The ending with scrat on the beach was pretty much meant to resemble Disney shutting down blue sky and now they’re left without a job

To answer if our beloved squirrel ever got his acorn Yes, yes he did A final attribution to the Blue Sky Studio and the Ice Age series, there’s a clip of him finally eating his acorn and moving forward. There will no longer be any Ice Age films but it was a nice ending.

5:54 I think they got the historical era wrong by couple hundred million years ago. They should have written Paleolithic not Paleozoic.
