Wow. Hell of an upgrade. I seem to remember this idea on the Ford Mustang Mach III concept car years ago: the dohc 4.6 had a roots blower on it that utilized the a/c to cool the exchange fluid. Always sounded like an awsome idea...wondered why more manufactrs never used it on an oem system.
@justinm4109 жыл бұрын
Chris17psi Because it heats up the AC system making the cabin hotter.

Thanks alot! Yes, I will eventually.. Possibly this summer. I have a race motor ready to build up and want to make a step by step video (like this one) showing a hot to guide for building it up.. So stay tuned!

I built my own for like $7. On a stage 3 supercharged Tacoma it really does make a noticeable difference. I'm also running water/methanol injection which amplifies the effect.

joshua branham you built your own killer chiller kit, you mean? If so, I'd love if you could share information!
@joshuabranham33857 жыл бұрын
A killer chiller of sorts. I disconnected the water lines running to the heater core and routed the water lines of the heat exchanger though the core. By turning the heat and a/c wide open the chilled air blowing through the heater core causes the water circulating through heat exchanger to drop to 63 degrees in 90 degree weather. Parasitic drag is negligible as the a/c kicks out at wot. Downside to this is you will no longer have heat, and heat is a luxury that is very much taken for granted.

could you please post a vid of that setup it sounds interesting
@jordanberry48247 жыл бұрын
I really like the set up but always use those crimp hose clamps. If you need to take off they cut off but look so much better and will never come loose. plus if you want really cold R134A vacuum for 90 minutes. The longer the vacuum the colder the A/C but you can only vacuum for so long.

he used a app called torque for IOS and android and a Bluetooth OBD 2 connector you can buy from the app maker or offline on ebay/amazon. If you get the app i recommend you buy the pro version instead of the free version its so worth it. I use this setup on my 2003 s55 amg.

I recently bought a CLS55AMG and love the car and your videos. Question. Can you tell me where the EGR valve is? I don't have any manuals yet. The car has headers on it if that makes any difference.

I wish they had shit like this around when I was running an S-Trim Vortech blower on my new at the time 93 Mustang GT. They eventually came out with the cooler that went in between the blower and the throttle body. Then you moved the battery in the trunk and put the cool container where the battery used to be. Then you would usually run ice and cold water. But a few times I knew a guy that had one and ran dry ice and alcohol and gained 150 extra H.P. by doing it. With the Ice water it would be like 90 H.P.

A simpler way to lower your intake temps is to install a liquid propane injection system (LPG). Not only does it inject a cryogenic liquid into your intake ports but it has a higher octane rating than premium fuels...and it costs less to fill up.
@zacharyohare21188 жыл бұрын
good recovery, but damnnn those temps go up fast... More fluid perhaps to help slow the heating?

I have a T/A 392 & I would like to boost her. I love the idea of super cooling the air flow like the Dodge Demon. I do not have a Supercharger yet. But so far, I have my eye's & heart set on the Edelbrock 2650 TVS E-Force. Would your Killer Chiller Kit system work with the E-Force SuperCharger? Or would there be a better supercharger system to work with? Can you send me more data on your "Killer Chiller Kit"...

Just wondering aydin what killer chiller kit did you buy the only ones ive found on there site thus far are ones for mustangs and ford lighting trucks was it a custome kit or did u make one work?

Looking to do this and im curious are you still using the two oem heat exchangers or are those removed and tossed after doing this mod? I want to upgrade the heat exchanger on my S55 but would rather do this and not worry bout them anymore.

@Aydinvideo appreciate all these videos you've pieced together over the years. Have a KC in the mail right now. Ran methanol on the car but ambient temps and the coolant still heat up. Looking forward to having similar results. Also do you still have the car and are you running the weistec blower now?

How did switching from meth to killer chiller work out for ya ?
@blinx19711 ай бұрын
@@nicholascummings6803 um, my setup was cool but the M113K ECU cut timing waaaay harder than other brands so I felt like I was playing IAT watcher and it still didn't help like as much as I expected it to. Also, my KC setup was notorious for leaking and eventually blew out my AC Compressor (mostly my fault) but yea, thsts 3 cars ago for me now 🤷🏾♂️

How do know if it works if you don't have a before and after temp reading? Or at least a baseline to determine what the temp difference is on YOUR car and not a bunch of numbers they are selling you. For the cost of this product, they could've at least machined the "T" to connect directly into the A/C lines.
@sly180sx6 жыл бұрын
Simple, you pop the bonnet and feel the SC coolant lines. it will be VERY cold to touch. something that never happens in a non Killer chiller setup (normal setup) The coolest the water will ever be in a factory setup or even with a MASSIVE heat exchanger is the same as the ambient temperatures. thats just thermal dynamics.

I'd like to know much the fuelconsumption increaces, by using the airconditioning to cool intake air. I want to know where the "chemical" cooling takes place, because cooling is always a physical process and I don't see ammonium nitrate or other things that could chemically react to cool something.
@aydinvideo10 жыл бұрын
Elmar Dylong It's just using the A/C all the time. With this car, there are so many mods, from the Blower pulley to for more PSI, to the ECU tuning, to the huge fuel injectors, it's a nominal thing. It gets about 13-15MPG in the city, and maybe 20 on the freeway. Much less at WOT. Chemical intercooling refers to the R134a refrigerant being used. There is NO air/air IC cooling- like a radiator. Those have been removed. The intercooler pump circulates water and antifreeze+water wetter through a closed loop circuit (~3.5Gallons) and through the intercooler downstream of the supercharger. The boosted (hot ) air is passed through this internal intercooler just before entering the cylinder head. This air is cooled via the aforementioned cooling fluid, that is first passed through the Killer chiller box- where the liquid is chilled via the r134a. It is then pumped (chilled- like ice water) into the manifold intercooler, where the hot air is discharged from the supercharger. This hot air is then cooled through the intercooler- which is cold from the ice water/antfreeze mix that is being pumped through it.. The air is then delivered right into the cylinder head. With this setup, you can run much more PSI, and more advanced timing without detonation, and on regular pump gas this way. The supercharger does not get heat soak, nor does it need a recovery time anymore. The AMG ecu normally pulls timing when things heat up- but no longer does- because of the killer chiller.
@ElmarDylong10 жыл бұрын
aydinvideo Thanks for explaining the obvious things, I know what an air-to-water intercooler is. ;-) I just wanted to know if you are aware of the fact that you are using fuel to cool intake air. The only advantage I can see is cooler intake temperature as air-to-air intercooling, or usual air-to-water systems.
@aydinvideo10 жыл бұрын
Elmar Dylong ??? I think you're missing the point. The system is impervious to high ambient heat (like driving in the desert) and will offer consistent performance over and over again with no heat soak.That alone would be worth it.. The system is so effective, you can then boost the supercharger psi and advance timing even more- making more power. Using the the a/c is not wasting fuel. The parastatic loss is so small, maybe 2-4HP, when you can boost it up and gain 60-80HP using this system and pulleys+ECU mapping- it's a non issue.
@ElmarDylong10 жыл бұрын
Sounds good to me, but what about some real numbers? Im interested in how torque increased and what gain in hp you got from it. Some diagrams connecting rpm to torque and hp would be great.

112k V6 boost limit is not the same as the 113k V8 boost limit. His vacuum is clearly showing he has no leaks because its reading -24hg on idle / coasting. if its less than he either has cams, or has a vacuum leak.
