I've been using the odin2 for some time now, I'm really in love with it, a great handheld. Sure, it's not plugg and play, but setting it up to fit my needs was fairly easy for a non tech interested person like me. The tpu shell makes the grip go from good to great😊

I was contemplating buying this or the steamdeck, however just everyting about the steamdeck looks incredibly uncomfortable to me and its way too big for my small hands. And I already have a powerful gaming PC and I dont feel like fiddling with the system and installing mods on a handheld without a mouse and keyboard etc. The odin 2 being much smaller, having way bigger battery and more a set it up once and almost forget about it console like experience combined with all the future proofing features sold me on it. They are also working on steamOS for the odin 2 anyways
@pixelmentia3 ай бұрын
The Steam Deck is actually incredibly comfortable for most people. It's like it hugs your hands. And I've seen those with small hands report they enjoy it as well. Honestly the most ergonomic portable I've ever used, though it is a little heavy to hold for long periods of time. Now, if they actually do release a working and stable SteamOS for the Odin 2 I would definitely be interested in trying one out, though it still wouldn't have the trackpads for games that require mouse input. As it stands, the Deck can just do so much more. You have almost the entirety of gaming in a handheld. I highly recommend giving one a try before passing on it.

@@TechSpaceCowboyReally? That's surprising. Out of curiosity, at $300 what do you think is a 4? The mini is $340 and you sacrifice a lot, worse ergos, worse battery, higher temps, coil whine. The only better things are it's 15% smaller and a brighter screen.

what is frontend
@TechSpaceCowboyКүн бұрын
A “front end” is sort of like your app launcher on android, or your “Home Screen” on iOS. It’s the interface that shows all of your games. Because the games are from different systems and those systems are launched by different apps, you couldn’t see all of your games side by side without some other layer that displays the games regardless of which app they’ll launch from. You don’t need a front end. You could just have your home screen with RetroArch, Dolphin, AetherSX2 and whatever other apps needed to launch your games, and just go into each app for each system when you wanted to launch your games. But that’s not very quick, or aesthetically pleasing. Using an app like RetroArch is really a pain in the ass to launch a game from.
