Sadly, the Japanese voice actor for Byakuya passed away a year or two ago. This might have been one of his last roles. Still, Byakuya is the rare awesome anime dad. Pneumonia is no joke. I had a mild case and I was sick for like a month and a half, and even after you get it under control with medicine you have to be careful so you don’t get re-infected while your immune system gets back in shape. Nasty feeling, having all this wet gunk in your lungs. I didn’t take my medicine like that, btw. 😂

Remember when I said that all their names mean something? Well then hold on to your seats: Senku's dad's name is composed of "byaku" (百 hundred) and "ya" (夜 night) to create Byakuya (Hundred Night). Senku's name is composed of "sen" (千 thousand) and "kū" (空 sky) to create Senkū (Thousand Sky), which is homophonous to 先駆, meaning "pioneer". Their last name, Ishigami, is composed of "ishi" (石 stone) and "kami" (神 god) to create Ishigami (Stone God).
