This made me feel rather emotional and wistful for people I don't know, and for a time long before I was born. Beautiful.

Its funny you said that, because I felt the same way when I watched this video. I guess seeing videos of people that you don't know who go about their lives in the same way the you do just strikes a chord deep within. I stopped over in Ayr in 2005 when I was deploying to Kuwait with the USAF and enjoyed the area. I came across this video when I looked up Ayr on youtube. It kind of puts things in a different perspective when you're a visitor who passes through and you see a family that has lived here happily go about their lives.

The reason you feel so wistful is because deep inside you know things were SO much better then, and ordinary people lived much more fulfilling lives. Even though you didn't live then, you know this. The real pandemic is the damned smartphone.

Things have changed for worse, on that no one can reasonably disagree. No wonder we get so wistful at these kinds of videos.

I remember when I was five my family stayed at Mrs McKinley's boarding house just up the road in July 1966. The street hasn't changed that much 😀

1966 for me was in NY State in the U.S., but this was as evocative for me as everyone has said. And wonderful music, too.

I drive a private hire taxi and it`s weird how a lot of people automatically go in the back seat , at 00:15 I had a flashback of this as 4 of them got in the back😆
