Great work, Lou, and thanks for sharing!!!. “B” list ship?……not to me!!! It was love at first sight when it debuted back in 1984!!!. It is a dream come true for me. The refit is my fav of all the ships from Star Trek. The Grissom and Olympic Class Pasteur are neck to neck close second in my opinion. After all, no one’s girlfriend is ugly!!!. Thanks for sharing and look forward for any stencils you may provide in the future. Happy Modeling

Hi Lou. Surprise AD video! 😁👍 I have to agree that this ship is somewhat C-list and not one I'll be doing but you have made a lovely job of it. The gunmetal panels are a particular highlight. You must be quite expert at this class by now as you have done so many! The decals seem to be a significant issue - bit of a QA fail here I think. Rather than scissors I would probably use a steel rule and a sharp knife to trim the carrier film. As a major Space:1999 fan I'm looking forward to the Hawk.

As always a gem Lou. I saw on Steve Iverson's email that you will be providing a mask set on the Cult TV man site. Could you include your decal selection/hints for the Grissom in your instructions also when your mask set comes out?

Thanks for asking that question. A set of the world’s famous Aztec Dummy stencils will sure make painting this kit easier. I’m going to modify mine by replacing the “WW 2 truck wheels” impulse crystals (if that’s what they are) with single blue LED lighted crystal. Also the impulse engine needs some “spicing” similar to the “grid” pattern on the refit’s. That’s 2 out of several improvements I’ve got planned

Any hope to use a pencil on a spot of clear decal and seal it down? Or spray some smoke grey on same clear and slice it really fine by hand? I know, torture. Speaking of torture-- you went through such trials for that long front skinny blue decal on the big guy-- I'm surprised you didn't make up a set of vinyl templates. You already painted stuff before final assembly, when doing that would make sense. Pylons too -- fussy, sure -- but I've seen you fuss a lot. Light blocking-- (black) Tulip can be thinned a bit to be used as paint and stays pretty "blocky." Good looking ship-- great build.

The whole "generational" thing between ToS and the movies is kind of silly. We're talking about a timeframe of a couple decades. Anything made across 100 years and more could show up at any time in the movies; everything didn't update in that short span between ToS and the movies. Not a lot would have disappeared by the time of TNG. This is space, there's no running out of room and the only reason to retire a ship is if it's wrecked in some way. Anyway, just a gripe
