How perfectly monstrous of you. For all your talk, that's a fine gal's face. I could see the odd eyelid work in the sculpt, must'a looked good on the shop floor. Can't wait for the Froedrick work. Still love that movie.

Dear Lou, Thank You, so very much...for your video o X-plus's Vampirella kit. Been looking for someone to build this kit on the web. Bingo! You got it Lou. Perfect! Thank You! For her history as well...Wow!...Laugh! Next, year X-Plus plans to make a new plastic model kit of that fav. Vampirella poster you called about on your video. This, video Lou is your "BEST YET"! Yeah, this will be late also, but the tan is because Vampirella is a Vampiri from the planet Drakulon. They drink blood from rivers the way we drink water, so that's why the creative license. I know, it's silly, but Forry Ackerman is to blame, not me. He created the character.

Vampirella is NOT a typical vampire. As a reader of the magazine since I was a kid, I can tell you that she was from another planet, and she takes a special serum that allows her to keep from having to drink human blood. She is also NOT effected by our planet's sunlight, unlike other vampires, Lou. This is why the artist, Jose Gonzales, gave her such a magnificent tan in his wonderful painting. So Vampirella never has to look particularly pale, but if you want to go that route, that's still fine. Frazetta seemed to make her fairly pale in his depictions, as did several other painters who did covers. It was common to see her with a nice, medium fleshtone on the old Warren Magazine covers. I really love how you handled Vampi's flesh, regardless! You're getting to be SO good at these figures! I think that her red outfit really pops! I also dig how you did the Frankenstein Monster's fleshtones. Very nice and cadaverous! Well done! "Putty buggers"?? "Seda-Give??!!" 🤣

Vampirella came from another planet that had blood instead of water in their rivers. No sunlight restrictions either so could have a tan. There's a huge number of wonderful illustrations of her. I think the one you were talking about was done by Frazetta.

Lou, I weaned myself off the Tamiya blacks a couple of years ago. I now use the Vallejo exclusively and since it is always available I am never at a loss. Vampi is looking lovely BTW. I got some 1/8 X-Men figures off eBay recently and they are so nice in raw resin its almost a shame to paint them. Whatba time to be a modeler.

I know it'll be too late by the time you see this, if you see this, but the seam where the boot meets the shoe, for lack of a better descriptor, is actually quite realistic and doesn't need to be sanded (unless obviously you prefer it) as a lot of boots will have a look to them when you can sort of see the "shoe base" and then the sort of added on extra material that makes it into a boot. Just thought it might help some people to know that they don't have to fix that seam if they'd rather not and it'll still be realistic
@markfergerson21452 жыл бұрын
In an exquisite case of serendipity, the upper part of a shoe or boot is technically termed the "vamp".

Hi Lou, I know this is a bit of a late reply but... I usually build sci-fi ships and occasionally cars and have never felt confident enough to try a figure, but this video inspired me so I went out and bought what I thought was this very kit. However the kit I have is slightly different. It's still made by X-Plus but it has a different base, Vampirella does have the famous outstretched hand with the bat on her finger and, more interestingly her outfit is separate and is added over her body. Anyway, here goes nothing, wish me luck.

Great little kits Lou! I love how you make the face painting look so simple. I loved your work on the Sucker Punch trio. Hey, just saw on Timeless Hobbies site here in the UK that there's a Vampirella 2.0 kit on the way with the famous bat-perched-on-the-finger pose. Face sculpt appears a little more natural.

Maybe a watered down bondo would fill the seam. Adding epoxy sculpt might raise the area up and call out the seam even more.

She’s a breeder. You built the Maschinenmensch from Metropolis from that X-whomever, too, didn’t you? I saw it there on the instructions and thought you had. The Young Frankenstein characters will go smashingly with your lab. Very cool idea to go with those, rather than the traditional ones.

I could have sworn I left a comment on your last Frankenstein's lab video. I just wanted to mention that green stuff world has a product called spider serum that is basically an airbrushable spider web material for models. I have personally never tried it but thought it might work for your project.

@aztekdummy2 жыл бұрын
@@SeansModelBuilds no. I've done the 2 color azteks and then a faux texture pattern on top. Even Paul Olsen has said that the five color version he did never had a distinct pattern. He started that way, but as he started to run out of time, the pattern got looser and looser til he just gave up and just made random colors on random shapes.
