Hi Lou, I love the USS Grissom for it is just one of my favourite starships out of Star Trek (the others been the USS Enterprise refit and the USS Reliant but the Reliant has to be my all time favourite) but you have done such a fantastic job at building this model as is with all the models you have built over the years and the work you have done is very impressive,you truly are a master of your craft. Hi Lou , What an AMAZING BUILD of the Grissom ... and you say you could've done better.. ? ... this is A 1 BRILLIANCE .. thank you so much bringing these Wonderful programmes of your models .... I'm still struggling with using LEDS on a Star Trek model of mine .. They are hand painted to the films or series , i just wish i could get my head around with the lighting .. I'm from England and would maybe find it difficult to get the accurate sound and lighting i would need .. I always look forward to your Outstanding work you bring us all here ...Thank you Lou .. take care and be safe ..

Nothing like a little mid-week Lou! Such a big beastie. Finish-- I merely felt that at this scale, it was easier to whack the lumps down. All things considered, you can get away with a coarse sanding stick... that sort of thing. Nothing wrong with a fiver. Plus the paint finish is every bit of a two-er. Those decals are nothing but compromises as far as finding a center line. And the lighting... well, modesty forbids me from speaking... The surgery was exciting and worked out well. Really cool, usual laid-back pace and took just as much as it needed. Looking forward to your change of pace model.

Awesome job on this! And your paintwork really does elevate it quite a bit. Although after seeing all the corrections that need to be made and how asymmetric it all is, I think mine will be going back in the closet. I'm not nearly as fast a builder as you and probably only have one Grissom model in me, so would much rather it be that new and shiny Round 2 kit instead.😁

What an amazing ship. So different and unique yet still unmistakingly Star Trek. To bad the 1/1000 is to small to properly light up. Would love to add it to my 1/1000 Star Trek collection but it would look a bit off being the only ship without any lights. Say did you ever get to try the 1/1000 Enterprise E and know if it's any good?

Hi Lou. A non-model question: I wish to know the source of the music you used for the picture stills at the end . . . from Star Trek The Wrath Of Khan? I have heard it before (Stage 9 Unreal Engine game), and I can't figure out where it originally comes from. Aaaaargh! By the way, I loved the job you did on the studio scale GRISSOM. One thing I've learned by watching your KZbin videos for the past 18 months is that there is no barrier, or problem, or defect, that you can't address and make perfect. You think it through and a solution is always around the corner. It's been a real privilege for us to see your thought-processes at work when confronted by these challenges. An important lesson for hobby modelers, deck renovators, bathroom sink replacers . . . . . . All the best.

It's from the search for spock soundtrack. Only fitting since it's the grissom

Wonderful work, Lou. I have to tell you that watching you work and seeing the way you don’t get flustered has improved my patience no end. Before The Hovering Fist of Doom was always present, ready to punish if I made a mistake. Now? I just think back to watching you build, and the things you’ve dealt with with little fuss, and no audible swearing. Question: what happened to the Lexx? I finally finished watching your videos from the start, and am fully caught up, and I’m sure I saw one in which you mentioned that. So, I either dreamt it, I missed it, or it’s still in your stash. Any idea when you’ll be building that one?

Loved the build of this kit. One thing tho...only on the TNG era ships did they have the transporter emmitters on the exterior of the ship. I know you used a lot of TNG references for the Obereth ship, just wanted to bring that to your attention.
@aztekdummy3 жыл бұрын
I figure this ship was designed around the same time as the next gen ships eventhough it's supposed to be 70ish years earlier, so some design features are the same. Whether it's meant to be the same piece of hardware, who is to say.

@@aztekdummy There weren't too many in the screencaps, and I totally agree, all water under the warp core. It is a beautiful job on the custom kit. I never meant to disparage the build. As a Trekker interested in the fine details, I just thought I share the information. You, my friend are one fine skilled modeler and is why I reached out to you last year on a commission for a 350 scale refit build, but you didn't have the time. I look forward my Fridays after the work week to have a Guinness and to see what is on the bench. I love all the Star Trek builds, but really enjoy when you bring out the obscure kits. Gotya tell ya Lou- as much as you busted your butt trying to work around this thing's flaws, and as good as the final result is (and it's pretty darn good), you're becoming quite the anti-salesman for these huge gar(b)age resin kits. Any kit I'd have toseriously consider runnimg through a bandsaw to make the main hull symmetrical I'm just gonna take a pass on, but that's just me. Don't feel bad at all for the compromises and "not your best work" thing. Lipstick and pigs, man.
