So I got my backside handed to me on this one. In this video, for your entertainment and my shame, I take the OV-10 Bronco for my first flight and record it for your ridicule!
This is a wonderful new aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator and a real pleasure to fly. We take it from Orbx Orcas Island Airport to Darrington in the USA. Great scenery and the first video on the channel in 4K

Good job matey, this bird is really squirrelly at low speed,...bit of T cut will buff that crash damage out :P - Get the realistic tree height mod too from the MSFS shop, default trees are too mahoosive.

Thanks! Yes nothing to see there at all. These are the medium height trees in Rex Accuseason rather than default.

I love this aircraft. I've learnt (the hard way) to keep my flaps retracted until I'm on final (ie not turning). I aim to keep the speed at or slightly above 100. As the brakes and reverse pitch are both very effective, that usually does the job. However, I must admit that I probably haven't tried at any airstrips with such a steep approach as Darrington 😜

Yes leaving flaps later seems to be a good tactic to avoid ending upside down in a forest! 🤣

You suffered exactly the same stall as I did - twice on a weekday A2A multiplayer flight. How embarrassing! 🤣 On approach, she can be quite tricky, but well worth spending the time learning, of course. With this and the Transall, AzurPoly's star is in the ascendant, and I'm really looking forward to what else they release.

Ariebaba's freeware Bronco was my most frequently flown fixed-wing aircraft for six months before AzurPoly's version launched, and I still had to spend a weekend learning to land it without stalling. And if IIRC from the forums, this has been quite a usual experience. It also took an embarrassing length of time before I realised that the horrible graunching noise just before things went south was the stic ... er, rudder shaker.

I feel slightly better I am not the only one! Didn’t realise the first time that was what that noise was but second time I heard it i felt the icy fingers of death on my shoulder once again! I will be taking her up again at a more conventional strip (with less mountains!) to do some good old fashioned circuits and bumps! 👍🏻

this stuff need trim more than other, if trim it good for landing glide speed it much more stable, if over trim, that lady will do everything for not touch the ground right way. it's like starfighter, if you don't trim you in trouble... problem is this bird with flaps and without them need really different neutral force position on the stick, so easy lost speed and go to high aoa if not pre trim on landing config... as said before, a2a love trims too, that birds will not gives a chance to be a terminator, who can handle any elevator position at any speed without trim that birds... i had exactly same in bronco and had after that couple a stall "landing"... this one just need some speed/heavy nose/light tail trim for touch the land good. and better have some alt for steep glide path... like ww2 fighters you know:)

Interesting video.👍👍 I think you stress too much about the landing. Just before your crash, did you put any rudder to correct the balancing of the aircraft? Don't under 75 knots if not enough power. With both the previous version and the latest version 1.1.0, I find it very easy to fly. I have done landings in cross wind, tail wind, front wind, a landing with both engines off, aerobatics at sea level, Courchevel and even Lukla, with take off and landing there! So much fun to fly this thing. But I do a lot of aerobatics anyway, so I love pushing aircraft. Watch my Bronco videos on my channel to see how much fun we can get with this Bronco by AzurPoly.

@@Dreamsofwings Ah that explains it. Doing this helped stalling the wing. In the previous version, it was possible to select things BEHIND the EFB! I had the EFB on the lower right part of the cockpit. As I wanted to turn off the Gunsight, I used the EFB to do it. But, but doing so, it inadvertently set the LEFT ENGINE EMERGENCY SHUTOFF VALVE to off! As this was not a conscious action, I didn't expect the left engine to go off. I didn't see at the time that the LEFT ENGINE EMERGENCY SHUTOFF VALVE was off. As I didn't know what happened, thinking it was a bug of some sort, I decided to go land the aircraft. I thought it was an opportunity to go back gliding, so I turned off the right engine, to see how this aircraft glides. I had just enough height and speed to go back and land. EDIT: I lowered the flaps just before touch down otherwise it would have slowed down the aircraft and a crash was a certainty. A mishap is also an opportunity to try something unplanned.

I bought this aircraft, but for some reason I dont really enjoy flying it ? Soon after downloading I lost interest in it ? Yes its a good model, but it just doesn't seem to inspire me to fly it much ?

if you'd ask me what am i thinking, i think you use too low fov, and that's the problem for feel aircraft good, however i don't sure if you see same if you use vr. what i really hate in simulator is low fov, i can crash anything until set fov close to maximum.

This is just the standard fov with the Bronco and using head tracking rather than VR. Not adjusted it. Like I said at the beginning I actually quite like the way it looks but everyone likes a different feel I guess.

@@Dreamsofwings i use custom save and load view for some aircraft, it's on my joystick bind. for cruise or some other this default it's very good, but on landing where i need more ground view for feel a bird i need some more fov, sure is different for everyone:) i don't use vr and tracking only buttons and rare mouse ministick that glitchy in x65f, no current vr i can handle because need eye gyro and other stuff limited in current models, like eye focus and mentioned stabilized view vector(eye gyro) whatever my head does in the space:)

That thing flies horribly and it looks like ground friction modeling is so overdone to the point it's like your landing in wet cement. Utter crap addon. Glad I saw this video before I spend money buying this!

I think it’s actually very good. Needed a bit of power to get it moving on the ground ( no idea what behaviour of real aircraft is but considering I took off fully loaded that might make sense) and reverse thrust was what made the aircraft stop relatively quickly.

@@Dreamsofwings The point is the aircraft will stop on it's own relatively quickly without using wheel brakes or reverse thrust. It should not do that. It has far too ground friction.
