Yeah bro, that's because of several factors. First example: we are more health conscious - we know that the health of seniors and others is put at risk during periods of sustained high temperatures and as a civilized society we now send out warnings to help those at risk plan ahead in an effort to save lives. Second and the most important example: daily highs and lows are higher now than they were decades ago and periods of extreme heat last much longer than they did in the past. Human-caused climate change is a thing whether it offends you or not. Ignore science and reality at your own risk.

Better increase that carbon tax so the politicians can... control the weather?
@brettthomas5605

Now remember BC's had a carbon tax for something like 15 years now. Someday Canadians will wake up and realize taxes don't solve the climate change problem, but improvements in technology over time. The acid rain problem many years ago in Eastern Canada and United States was not solved by putting a tax in place. It was eliminated by way of advancements in technology!!

Can you articulate what you are trying to say? The fact is there was a huge landslide that blocked a river a few days ago, the water has stopped flowing and created a lake behind the landslide. This accidental dam will give way at some point but not clear when and how. When it collapses it can cause a huge amount of water to flood down the valley. So what do you mean here with BS warming ?

I would have liked to have seen and heard the government of Canada provide engineering help as soon as possible for the land slide that happened on the Tsilhqot'in (Chilcotin) river near the Fraser Canyon. The engineers could have made a ditch from the lake that formed to the edge of the landslide and provided a way of an escape for the river. What is the purpose of waiting for the Chilcotin river to build up and burst at the seams and do considerable damage to the land and to the Fraser Canyon bridge?

It will NOT burst. It will build up and build up... They need drain the water downstream at the same volume as the original river, and I recommend simply siphoning through some a large pliable hoses that CAN go over the hump (looks approx. 60-70 feet?) . The water will need to be pumped up to the level at the top and then the water can flow down. Like siphoning gas. That's going to mess with the spawning, for sure. They'll going to need a fish ladder or perhaps catch and release upstream?

It is being dependent on air conditioning that has gotten people in poor condition to handle normal summer temperatures. Actually, here in Ontario, summer just started 2 days ago. Every night from July through to August, has been down below 15 degrees and as low as eight. They better stop spraying the stratosphere with particulates that block the sun, if they know what's good for them.
