ঝাড়লন্ঠনের আলোর তলায় যখন খেতে বসতেন কলকাতা শহরের অন্যতম খ্যাতনামা এ রাজবাড়ির পুরুষ সদস্যেরা, বহু যত্নে পোলাওয়ের সাথে এ পদ পরিবেশন করতেন মহিলারা। সে কথা আজ যখন বলেন নন্দিনী দেব, সে বাড়ির প্রবীণা সদস্য, তাঁর মন ছুটে যায় ফেলে আসা অতীতে। সে সব রান্নার কথা ধরা আছে তাঁর বইয়ে। আজ রইলো এ অনবদ্য পদটি।
