To save BE Meyers and their vendors, there is NO upgrade service for legacy models. It's an internal component change from what I've been told by them. If you want the new features, you buy a new MAWL.

Well that is disappointing to hear. I didn't even know there was a plan to introduce a revision to the MAWL-C1+ or any other MAWL models. It would have been nice of them to offer an upgrade path for their earlier adopters.

Hey fellow MAWL owners, I finally got out to the range and zeroed my C1+ and I noticed something really weird. The visible laser (and I'm assuming the IR since slaved), was moving (in relation to the red dot I was using as reference) BEFORE I moved the adjustment knobs a single "click". The elevation knob would move the dot up/down if I applied pressure down on the adjustment area or clockwise/counter-clockwise pressure as well (in the appropriate direction). The same thing happened with the windage knob. I checked the rail everything is mounted on and nothing was loose, and the rail is continuous/monolithic. Anybody else have this issue? Kinda makes me wish the adjustments were capped/recessed.

Sounds like rail flex. Unless the laser is loose

@@KineticConsulting I tightened down the bolts holding the rail, and then slightly repositioned the MAWL so it had more engagement w/ the pic segments (this is on a X95 where the built in flip up front sight removes 1 small part of the pic rail at a particular point front and rear). Tightened down the MAWL as much as I could, which is tighter than before, and now the unwanted shift is basically gone. I still swear I can see it once in a while at further distances (25m) but that may just be my hand shifting the actual POA. I'm very glad this wasn't a weird defect.

Perfect timing. This video is excellent! Thank you. My Mawl C1+ just arrived this week and it’s the new version. I’m tight on top rail mounting slots (Aero Atlas S hand guard) and wondered is there an end cap I can purchase for my WML to plug directly into the Mawl and run off the Mawl’s A/B buttons? I currently have a Streamlight ProTac 2 mounted right below the Mawl on an Arisaka mount.

I like the 123 cap. Just lower profile. I have no use for AA. I use the Panasonic and Energizer

That was a request of the state department overseas. Most civilians don’t really need it. I have a couple laying around. They work the same. AA batteries are cheaper and are everywhere. So if you have a hundred pack then have at it. It’s a little too long for my liking.

Hello. Excellent and informative video as usual. I was just wondering, TVNC and Unity Tactical, have the pressure switch and now the new hot buttons, for the Surefire and Lasers. Depends on how you set it up. Unity has hot buttons for both lights and lasers if I'm not mistaken

The entire system is better. The illuminators look close but because the D2 uses an led and mawl uses a vecel it's a significant difference in signature.

I started with a perst 4 and moved up in life to the mawl c+. From my experience the upgrade was worth it however i would prefer having the mawl DA(havent found one yet).

thanks for the 411 on the new MAWL updates. sure is frustrating to find out that they can't or won't flash existing MAWLS to the new programing as that was a big selling point to their military customers. Being able to flash MAWL's for units and op's that required it. just my 2 cent's that it's not worth it for the company to flash existing units for civilian sales. time will tell if contract units in service are given the new features. that's the problem with chasing the bleeding edge, it's always moving & cutting... thanks again for the video & time. To clarify it is not so much a programming change as it is a change to the lensing. Going from 4/16/60 degree settings to 2/10/60 degree settings.

Great video dude! Does your MAWL burn through batteries if you store it with the battery inside? I went through three batteries in two months. I called BE Meyers and they said to remove the battery when not in use.

@@mikeb4708 I called BEcMeyers again last week and they finally admitted that they did have a few lots that experienced this issue of battery drain. They gave me an RMA # to return my unit for repair. It’s all covered under their warranty. You should give them a call and send your unit in for repair as well.
