I can't believe there's someone who's got this composer down. He's a genius!

Bartók's musical voice is unique. He is a master of clarity of texture (as is Copland) and rhythmic energy.

Is this Bartók's only pleasant slow movement? (Not saying any of the others are bad - they're often incredible - just that most of them are quite unsettling)

Now it is apparent zappa was not as original as they'd have you belive.now capt beefheart, that guy is original.

@@poppacapps5573Frank was still astoundingly original. He synthesized disparate musical styles and influences in a way that was/ is both ingenious and incomparable. His compositions are brilliant: complex, unorthodox, melodically and harmonically sophisticated, and arranged to perfection. That being said, no one is completely original or without influence... that's just a given. This includes Captain Beefheart, by the way, who was influenced by a plethora of both well known and obscure R&B artists. He learned how to grunt and snarl from somebody.

Me too, I had to see how it compares to Fur Elise or Chopin's Nocturnes
