If i didn't know better, I would say that you have done this many times before 😊. Very skillful indeed and you probably save a fortune not have to buy western style metal planes. A pleasure to watch and, I myself greatly appreciate watching a master craftsman at work and also appreciate what we can learn from folks like you 😀. Thank you 😊 Les.

Looking at makes me wish there were no electric planes in the world so you could go on all day handplanning. Hand planes ll never be obsolete.

Well done. I really would like to try to make one but I have some questions : - what is the bed angle (where the blade would sit)? - what is the sharpening angle of the blade itself? Thanks a lot and beautiful build.

Ve you ever tried make one kanna out of lignum vitae? Should be great! 😊the densest wood but also self lubricating due to its high sap content. Because of that is used on ship and submarine bearings. It should work great on wood planes too
@twcdesign Жыл бұрын
Lignum vitae is famous for being one of the hardest woods in the world, but if it is too hard, it is difficult to work.
@musamor7511 ай бұрын
Listen mate, quite honestly, I have NEVER, EVER heard of a plane made out of Lignum Vitae. I do have a German ECE wooden block plane with a Lignum Vitae sole on it- but that's as far as it goes. Why exactly, are you putting this gentleman to such a challenge??? It must've been extremely tricky working with Padouk, or something similar. This is a very successful job.
