B-side Battle #4: Stray Kids, BTS, TVXQ, LUCY, TXT, Yoochun // Composer Ranking & Analysis

A couple things :) 1. The BTS and TXT audio unfortunately got blocked - so while you can still hear my thoughts on these songs, the listening portions of these reactions had to be removed. It's been brought to my attention that I've mistaken TXT for TNX and vice versa. LUCY is a 4 man band, and yes you are on point, their instrument line up is violin, guitar, bass, and drum. Magic is composed by the drummer (Gwangil), but usually their songs are composed by the bassist (wonsang). LUCY... i think it's unfair to the other song to be up against LUCY because all of them are musicians, and very picky and perfectionist musician at that, lol 😂 Most of them were professional composers & producers prior to LUCY, so they were known to have higher musicallity and complexity in their songs within the industry. Their main producer, the bassits, is THE bassist in korea and has produced many songs for other artists as well like WJSN, Younha, and recently for Doyoung NCT. Meanwhile their vocalist (sangyeop) was a BGM producer for many popular kdrama before LUCY. 'Magic' is one of their simpler ones, but they sure do have mind blowing ones as well like 'Boogie Man' where *spoiler alert* they change the time signature mid song?!? and a bunch of modulation and syncopation here and there. it was such a blast to break down. or they have a more story-telling based song, where the whole song structure and arrangement plays a part in the story like 'Snooze', 'Rolling Rolling', 'Play', 'The Knight who cant die and the silk cradle' (it's a long title, i know 😅) or their signature sound with 'Flowering', 'Flare', and 'Haze' anyhow, I'm glad you like LUCY and i hope you'll check out more from them! ^^

I’m not walwal, and I’ve known Lucy only for 2 months so far, but I’m so blown away by Lucy’s musicality that I had to get the tix to their concert Usually bassists don’t stand out to me too much (though they are essential to the band music), but with Lucy, Wonsang is just so crazy with his bass guitar that he got my attention! But other members are also so good musically. They are truly professional musicians

Wonsang really shows me what a REAL bass is and what bass really can do. and the members are also very skillful that can support and keep up with wonsang music style and bass. I adore them so much

9095 was composed and arranged by Jaejoong. This song, with its mysteriousness, fits perfectly with the concept of the album "The Secret Code". And their concert performance from Tokyo Dome /2009/ is remarkable also because of the creative stage presentation of the song. 9095 is TVXQ permanent Artist ID on Naver Music.

I really love 9095. Jaejoong did the music and arrangement for the song. And no one knows what this song is about either. The lyrics (as well as the sound of the song) are quite mysterious and there are only a few theories, but in fact, no one among the fans knows exactly the meaning. You can google '9095 analysis tvxq' Jaej also said that "9095" is the key to his heart or something. In fact, "9095" is the URL (ID) of the TVXQ page on the music portal Naver music (vibe). This is still their address. This is just a fun fact and we don't know if it relates to the lyrics or not. Or whatever might be hidden in all of this. Btw, there is also a hidden track '9096' and they are connected. It's almost the same song

LUCYYY 💙🎻, BTS 💜💜💜, Stray Kids ❤️❤️❤️ I would love it if you dived more into these artists and would like to give some of my personal recommendations for them- Lucy: Boogie Man (more dark theme since you seem to appreciate this type of music), You’re Right (live performance if possible), Ending (emotional/sensitive type), The knight who can’t die and the silk cradle (newer and also, STRAIGHT UP 🔥 imo) BTS: Outro: Tear (dark rap track), Outro: Wings, FAKE LOVE, and Born Singer. It’s hard to pick anything out because they have too many hits but just to throw some out there for starters I gave these tracks to let you experience some of the wide range of sounds they have and see how it goes Stray Kids: CHILL, Charmer, TASTE, and DOMINO. This group also has a wide range of sounds and are quite experimental although people are stereotyped against them and think they only make songs like their track “God’s Menu”(please listen to it too if you haven’t already) but in reality have 60+ genres in their discography. Anyways, thanks for the reaction and sorry for the word dump I really love these groups 🙏🏼

Thank for listen to Magic. Magic is a song to have fun in concert with fans, it's much better the live version than the studio version. Actually i would recommend Strong instead of Magic for listening. But you should listening for the role album Slow Dance, it's all about him passing through the worst momentos of his life, when he almost gave up of his life and then after find a reason for living and trying to be happy by his fans side. I hope seeing you reacting for more of his solo songs in te future.

Magic Shop by BTS is very cathartic, relatable and encouraging lyric-wise it has perhaps comforted so many people. I love it also when performed live especially with a call and response part with BTS and army (BTS fans). It was inspired by a book Into the magic shop. This song meant so much more because of how it has moved many with its meaning
