Tang Yuan is a Chinese dessert consisting of balls of glutinous rice flour and water that are boiled and served in a hot broth or syrup.
They are traditionally eaten during the Lantern Festival, they are also served on wedding days, at family reunions, and during the Dōngzhì (Winter Solstice) festival.
The round shape of the balls and the bowls in which they are served symbolise family cohesion.
Xue Ren here to show you how to transform traditional round white Tang Yuan into surprisingly cute characters.
📍 Tang Yuan Dough ｜ 汤圆粉团
10g Rice Flour（沾米粉）
50ml Water（清水）
100g Glutinous Rice Flour（糯米粉）
55-60ml Hot Water（热水）
10ml Coconut Oil（椰子油）
📍 Peanut Filling | 花生馅
60g Peanut Powder （花生粉）
30g Maltose （麦芽糖）
10ml Water（清水）
25g Coconut Oil（椰子油）
Optional:
2tsp Icing Sugar （糖粉）
*Add more oil to create molten effect
*想要加强流动效果，增加椰子油用量
