VERY NICE WORK! I was the Robertson factory pilot for the B1-RD and still love the STOL design. Your work deserves KUDOS for sure.

Hi Bob, Im looking for a B1RD in any condition to purchase for reference so I can build my own "BIRD", and if you get a chance read my other post so you can see I have prior aircraft experience with UL's, just never had the extra money because the government said I had to feed the kids more than once a week (!) So since the house is paid off, and the kids are on their own I can actually enjoy some serious "me time", and intend to do just that.

Although I've never owned nor flown the B1RD it has always been one of my favorite ultralights, along with Dumont's Demoiselle. Over the year I've owned a Wills Wing Swallow Tail, an Easy Riser, and a QuickSilver model M which had the 'C" wing planform - but none were motorized because my Wife and I had just purchased a new house in MO-VAL, CA, in '79 so money was tight for awhile until we finally paid it off in January, 2019. YAY !!! So know Im looking around for a B1RD in any condition to use as a source to refer to when I build something similar - and YES, I do know what I am doing since I worked at Stits Aircraft for several years and have helped build several kites, and UL's over the years and would like to have this to play around with in the morning on calm days. Thanks for sharing your video and if anyone knows of a B1RD for sale let me know cause since I retired a few years ago I've finally got a lot of time to work on it and enough parts to actually complete the job.

Pretty cool but I was noticing the right horizontal stabilizer was twisting a bit.
